I’m off for the weekend but before I go. I think Starmer and Macron should cancel their visit to Trump given his most recent comments and tell him he isn’t welcome anywhere in their orbit of power. If he wants to play hardball then let him just play on his own.

I’d send Trump a copy of The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro or Schindler’s Ark byThomas Keneally if I thought he would read either and understand them. Maybe something from the early reader shelf would put him on the road to the value of literature that should inform the way to behave.

I’m considering Trumps attempt to bully Zelenskyy. It seems to me he has picked a fight with the wrong kid in the playground. Zelenskyy knows what a bully is and he has faced the worst sort down for a good while now. Some fat bluster gut isn’t going to phase him. He doesn’t give a fuck about Trump.

You have to hand it to those guys in the Kremlin. They know how to destabilise democracy and international alliances; Finance extremism in the west, interference in elections to support those they can manipulate, exploit divisions and in the EU and now gets America to fuck up NATO.

For what it’s worth, in a few short weeks the US has traded its old role as a largely trusted western ally and become a rouge state determined to annex former allies territory and steal their resources. Those former allies are still hoping to rehabilitate and appease it. This seems wrong to me.
