On El Salvador: A quick lesson on concentration camps. First created by the Spanish to deal with insurgency in The Phillipines and were a reason given in the US to support the Spanish-American War. Used by both the USA in the Philippines and the UK in South Africa at the start of the 20th Century.

Despite being against the death penalty overall, I am going to raise a glass of wine to this anniversary given I am in a wine bar in Tblisi. Shame there are increasingly less of us now who oppose Nazis and more and more who embrace the modern versions in Hungary, Russia and now... in the USA.

I know for outsiders who have never been to the USA, that the fact so many of them vote for people like Trump, the people may seem amongst the most vile on the planet, but the reality is if you travel there you will find them the most welcoming and friendly of people in all places, like these people

16 April 1930 | Czech Jewish boy, Erich Schild, was born in Česká Lípa. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt ghetto on 28 October 1944 and most probably murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

I'm putting on my dumb American hat by saying I honestly never really understood how true this was until i moved away from it. The public transportation and the bicycle I use almost daily has fully made me a car hater. Nowhere built for cars can also be built for people.
