My first shot with the Fuji 20-35 ultrawide; this little waterfall is found on the way to Virginia Falls in Glacier National Park, and as far as I'm aware, doesn't have a name. I really liked the reddish color of the rock, and actually this turned out to be my favorite shot from the hike.

Got a little too caught up in doom-scrolling tonight. But here's a beautiful waterfall! This is Nerada Falls in Mount Rainier National Park. You can't get very close to it at the base, but there's a nice viewing platform (if you're up for all the stairs!)

A tiny little waterfall, found along the side of Ausable Chasm in New York state. The steady trickle gives a place for moss to grow, creating this beautiful little patch of greenery on the rock face.

River rapids in a stream somewhere in the Great Smoky Mountains. I forgot to write down the location, so I couldn't tell you exactly where! 😅

Panoramic sunrise from Kuwohi, formerly known as Clingman's Dome, atop the Great Smoky Mountains. I'm not much of one for getting up early, but a truly beautiful sunrise can make it worthwhile.

Something a little more abstract than most of my nature photography, but this composition of a waterfall (part of High Falls Gorge in New York State) seen from above really caught my eye. I really enjoy its sense of movement and subtle tones, even if it's not as dramatic as most waterfall shots.

This one might not show up too well on a mobile format, but it's my best effort at a panoramic capture of McDonald Falls, near the entrance of Glacier National Park. This is a really broad waterfall (or series of waterfalls) spanning the entire river, so it was quite difficult to compose.

One from my home state. The Mackinaw Bridge, aka 'Mighty Mac', seen from across the water. The sky wasn't anything special, but the lines of color in the water are what make the shot.

I don't know if this pretty little waterfall on the way to Sol Duc Falls in Olympic National Park actually has a name, but I'm calling it Little Sol Duc Falls. It was raining lightly when I visited, which is the proper way to see any rain forest.

Laurel Falls is one of the most accessible (a keyword that would apparently get me flagged for having my federal grants pulled, if I had any!) waterfalls in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and always a good first step when visiting.

Another black and white. I call this image the Ice Dragon's Cave, because that's what I see when I look at that gaping opening at the base of frozen Niagara Falls. This one never did well at art festivals, but now that I'm not a professional photographer, I'm free to not care about that.

Back to Bryce Canyon for a delicate pastel shot of some hoodoos catching morning light. Like most photographs of Bryce, this is shot from the rim; hiking down in the canyon offers its own enjoyment, but it's not nearly as productive for photographers.

It's usually impossible to photograph waterfalls on a sunny day, but for this visit to High Falls Gorge in New York State, the cloudless conditions actually played to my advantage. The blaze of golden light filling the upper distance anchors the whole composition.

A bit of a nature abstract, shot along a trail in the Hoh Rainforest. I like the way the split trunk invites you in, like a little mossy cave.

Lake McDonald at the entrance to Glacier National Park, in winter. It was beyond freezing, but there's something incredibly peaceful about standing by the shore of a frozen lake, surrounded by blankets of snow, and watching the sun go down.

The Hoh Rainforest, Olympic National Park. My favorite place in the whole world.

One of my older photos. Niagara Falls (Canadian side), from right up near the water. The power of the water this close is stunning.

Another one from the Southwest, also shot with the Fuji 100S. Sunrise over Bryce Canyon. I'm not usually a sunrise kind of person, but this was worth getting up early.

Today's landscape image is one of my first I took with the Fuji 100S, back in 2022. Working with a digital medium format camera had always been a dream of mine, and the Grand Canyon was the perfect place to start.

Continuing to post a landscape photo a day. If it makes even one person's day a little better, I suppose I've succeeded at something.

Still posting an image a day of my landscape photography to help inject some nice calming nature into the digital stream.

Continuing to post my landscape photography to inject some positivity into the digital world.

More landscape photography from my archive. This one has a special place for me: back when I was selling prints at art festivals, this was always one of my centerpiece images.

Day nine of my continuing mission to post landscape and nature photography to make the digital world just a little better and brighter.

Day eight of my posting one of my landscape or nature photos every day. Just trying to do my part to keep something wholesome on your screen.

Day seven of posting my landscape and nature photography to inject some positivity into this little digital world. Despair is the weapon of the enemy.

Day six of my continuing mission to add some positivity to the digital world by posting my landscape and nature photographs. I'll keep at it until I run out of photos, and then hopefully I'll feel ready to do something else! 😶

Day five of my continuing mission to inject positivity into this platform by posting my landscape and nature photography. Now that I'm no longer a professional photographer, it's nice to be able to share stuff without feeling any artificial pressure to make money from it. Screw capitalism.

Day four of posting nature photography to inject a little positivity into a dark and uncertain world. All images are my own work, created without AI chicanery.

Day three of posting a landscape or nature photo a day to help stay positive. All my own actual photography, no AI in sight.

Shouldn't have to be said, but...

Day two of posting one of my landscape photos to celebrate leaving a certain other social media platform that will not be named behind. All genuine digital photography here, no AI malarkey.

To celebrate finally leaving the Meta-hole behind, I'm going to try to inject some natural beauty into my new home on Bluesky. Every day until I run out, I'm going to be posting a different one of my landscape photographs. Here is the first.
