#DMcraft Prepare to improvise. Having a short list of names and a few encounters hidden up your sleeve just in case the players do something unexpected, which is always. If you don't use those encounters, that's fine, save them for later. It's not wasted work!

#DMcraft It's better to admit you've made a mistake than it is double-down on one. Example, making the wrong ruling or owning up to bad encounter design. "Hey, gang,I messed up. This encounter wasn't intended to be this deadly. <Make adjustment> Integrity plays.

DMcraft# Roleplaying and combat are not mutually exclusive activities. Don't lose sight of your character's personality and the emergent drama just because initiative has been rolled. Consider either of Luke Skywalker's duels with Darth Vader.
