Please take a moment to read this thread. RIP Josef

Potential life-saving screenings and targets to boost take up: vital. Meanwhile, govt's scrapping a 75% annual health check target for learning disabled people - who die 20 yrs earlier than they should, with almost half these deaths deemed avoidable. Go figure. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

I had the privilege of watching the year 13s drama production at my son's specialist 6th form today. A wonderful celebration of talent!

It's important everyone over 14 on their doctor's learning disability register has an annual health check. They can help you stay well and find any problems early. If you haven't been offered one you can ask your doctors practice if you can have one.

So councillors in Birmingham give themselves an above inflation increase in allowances. This comes during the week we hear that over £148 million in cuts will be made to adult social care and children’s social care services. #Birmingham #CouncilCuts

Having spent the last few weeks talking to voluntary and community groups about the importance of Annual Health Checks for people with #LearningDisabilities, it’s incredibly hard to understand why the NHS have removed the 75% target. Folks, the check is still available. Go get it done.

Imagine you were the richest man in the world. You could have anything you wanted, go anywhere you wished, do whatever took you fancy. How would you spend your weekend? Depriving the poorest people in the world of food and healthcare and boasting about it?

This is so good.

Can anyone give Cheryl some reassurance? BCU alumni? Employers?

Calvin Robinson has been defrocked by the Anglican Catholic church for emulating Musk's salute, one of several small churches he has bounced in and out of in the last 5 years

Just had a copy of a hospital referral letter for my son. Interesting as my son's name changed to Eliot half way through the letter. Sigh. I'd love to say this is the first time it's happened. My son's name appeared in someone else's EHCP last year.

“Move closer to Europe – not Trump” Huge UK poll shows Brits overwhelmingly want Starmer to prioritise trade with EU not US. Even in Farage’s constituency! Excellent work by @bestforbritain.bsky.social & @pimlicat.bsky.social. 👏👏👏

It would be nice if the media could for once ensure that “Down’s Syndrome” and “abortion” aren’t in the same sentence. So much to be said about both, but separately.
