$200 million taxpayer dollars spent on “tell me I’m pretty” ads to stroke his own ego, while he fires people to “save money.” Sociopathic.

“In some ways that’s even more chilling than firing the four stars,” Rosa Brooks, a professor at Georgetown Law. “It’s what you do when you’re planning to break the law: you get rid of any lawyers who might try to slow you down.” By NYT Greg Jaffe www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/u...

Nothing says you’re a good steward of taxpayer money like bricking thousands of EV chargers that were installed at taxpayer expense for no reason other than that you hate EVs

"Next week, House Republicans will hold a major vote on Trump’s fiscal agenda. The House blueprint, which Trump backs, lays the groundwork for up to $880 billion in Medicaid cuts and tens of billions in cuts to food stamps." Everybody knows someone this will harm.

In tonight's military purge, Tump nominated Dan Caine for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, a retired Lt. General so underqualified he'd need a waiver. Even odder: Caine was installed last month at 3 VC firms doing crypto, AI, and defense tech, including Thrive, founded by Jared Kushner's brother. 1/

Nothing to worry about, just an administration official suggesting that the DOJ may prosecute a member of Congress for advising people about their rights. Happening right now. Right in front of us.

USAID has been paying for removal of Vietnam-era land mines in Cambodia. Trump's funding freeze has compromised those efforts. Almost immediately, China stepped in to aid Cambodia instead. Besides humanitarian costs here, how does any of this serve US interests? www.nbcnews.com/news/world/u...

New from me in @wired.com: Donald Trump's cabinet is full of conspiracy theorists who think COVID-19 is a bioweapon, and that the doctors and scientists who now report to them helped create it. Those scientists are worried about the coming military tribunals. www.wired.com/story/reveng...
