On making an interesting character: - Create a primary character need/drive that compels action - Start at the beginning of their arc/give them space to grow - Establish voice for the character (more than just how they say it) - Use background to inform character choices (start light, expand later)

Whether you're a streamer, podcaster, reviewer or just someone sharing their enthusiasm about our games, we want to help you make cool stuff. Our new Creator Support program can get you access to digital assets, inside info, comp copies of our games and more. Appy here: evilhat.com/creator-supp...

Excited for this.

Pretty sure I'm bottom left (lawful evil - oops...)

We've already crushed $800 in our first few hours - THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR LOVING INDIE TTRPG!!

Hire Kim. Kim is great!

Board games with friends today.

My friend Eli has been working on Sword Opera for almost as long as I’ve known him. It’s incredible. Every session is full of tragedy and drama and characters I’m desperate to learn more about. You make your own criminal underworld! There’s dueling rules! www.kickstarter.com/projects/myt...

This game looks like something really special (and anything Austin makes is an automatic get for me).

Another successful #slugblaster one-shot in the bag today. With that done I've already played more #ttrpgs in the first 18 days of 2025 than I played in the first half of 2024.

If I were to spoil one Legacy style game for myself in order to learn how the genre's mechanics can work, which would you recommend me spoiling? Yes, I'm willing to never enjoy that one game from a player perspective. I want it to be just _one_ game, though; an exemplar of the form. #boardgames

words like coward, wizard, and (to a lesser extent) drunkard survive in contemporary English but similar constructions like dullard, laggard, and dastard have fallen out of common use

This game was so sick it blew my mind

Sam's adventures are always one of my biggest highlights of the #slugblaster #bundle. If you want to check it out here: itch.io/b/2804/slugb...

Here's my list for next year (in no particular order): - Triangle Agency - Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast - Stewpot - Fabula Ultima - Wanderhome

2025... Well now what?

Muppet Blades In The Dark

A sweet, sweet bundle of #slugblaster stuff cooked up by the Wilkie's discord community. Gear! Monsters! Adventures! New settings! All sorts of tasty stuff. All the money goes to help teen mental health. itch.io/b/2804/slugb...

As the year's coming to an end, I figure I should reflect on this year in #ttrpg #gamedesign for me. This year has been an absolute contradiction: On one hand my dmrawlings.itch.io views, sales, etc was higher than ever before, but I published _less_ stuff and have been languishing creatively 🧵.
