I'm sure there will be many other justifications offered, in rapid succession. But it's wild to be heading into a self-induced recession behind more or less this reasoning.

BREAKING! Secret video recorded in Oval between Trump and American Chamber of Commerce!

I keep thinking of Stephen King's "Dead Zone." If Trump found out he had a terminal illness, would he take us all with him?

More casually cruel “fire first, then aim” nonsense from the Trump Musk team.

Actual tweet from @larrysummers.bsky.social

Worse than I thought.

But his emails....

New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker carried an all-night speech in protest of President Donald Trump’s agenda into Tuesday morning.

I don't want Canada or Greenland… I want PBS, Social Security, and The Smithsonian. CAN YOU SAY THE SAME?! 🤚

Schrodinger's Vaccine: simultaneously a globalist plot to destroy free will and the liberal media doesn't give Trump enough credit.

Our National Security Advisor everyone.

I’m not going to say right off the top that this is a “bad” idea, but it does make me think about that scene in Goodfellas where the restaurant owner asks Paulie to be his partner. apnews.com/article/ukra...

Well, State Department had Canada in the Europe Bureau until the 1990s. Why not?

@radiofreetom.bsky.social one thing not getting much attention but in your wheelhouse is France supplanting U.S. as "nuclear guarantor" for NATO. No one has asked Trump about "extended deterrence" but can imagine his response. But France's arsenal is pretty much countervalue. So is it credible?

@mcbride.house.gov I'm very sorry for the deliberate disrespect shown to you at the hearing today. As someone with transgender family members, I want to assure you that the hurtful comments don't denigrate you at all, but they make very clear the cruelty that has become a MAGA trademark.

“Some”….

Uh, I’m not sure about that. I’d say the same for London. Unless they’re leaving or supplanting NATO with a Euro-focused defense strategy. That’s been the purview of NATO. And right now I’d say that’s in flux.

A quibble with what Bremer said on Morning Joe this morning. Yes, this may result in increases in European spending on defense and uniting on security policy. But in Putin's calculus, separating the U.S. from Europe is worth that cost. That's been the strategic goal since the end of World War II.

The best thing Marco could do right now is keep quiet and meek, as he was in the disastrous meeting.

Shocked.

#FVEY intelligence sharing was likely going to be a challenge with #Gabbard as #ODNI. Now, with the United States turning 80 years of post-WWII U.S. foreign policy on its head, I wonder what the thinking is in London, Ottawa, Canberra, Auckland, and Ottawa about just how open they'll be.

U.S. sides with Russia on a UN resolution condemning the invasion, language the U.S. will not even allow included? Putin's nurturing of "dealmaker" Trump (legitimate to call him an asset now) should cause any administration official serious about #natsec to resign, Marco Rubio/Mike Walz

Master class is passive aggressive resistance

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.
