Time for some global honesty: the combination of war and famine and climate change disasters means that migration can only increase. To suggest otherwise is merely to stick a finger in a dyke which is about collapse.

One 125 ton Wind Turbine will in its lifetime produce the same amount of energy as burning 175,000 tonnes of coal. Imagine all that profit flowing away. That's why they hate them so much.

Nothing dystopian about this. No sir.

Is this not corruption? What's next, citing a study by Shell about why drilling for oil is good for the planet, or citing a study by a tobacco company about how it creates more jobs for cigarette manufacturers & boosts the economy if we allow kids to buy ciggies? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I’ve clearly missed something, but why is a Westminster government paying towards the development of a privately owned English football stadium? With an annual wage bill of £183,040,000. Especially when on the same day they announce that benefits for the sick and poor are going to be slashed.

If you wanted no leaks you should have gone into Settings -> Security -> Configure privacy & security -> Privacy options -> Other -> Configure -> Media interface and clicked “Disallow.” The Leak setting is on by default but we understand your privacy is important so we’ve made it easy to opt out

Stop worrying about bats and newts? No Rachel Reeves MP – start worrying about the future of our economy if we tear down the nature it depends on. Nature isn’t a blocker; it’s the foundation of growth.

Fix the two-party system before someone turns it into a one-party system, or it'll be game over for good. PR is like a seatbelt. You don't need it - until you're heading through the political windscreen at 60mph. And when the realisation finally dawns on you it's the last insight you'll ever have.

Bit tricky to see how you can be simultaneously alarmed by all the evidence of climate change, and also think that more airport runways are the way to go....

Why do wrong-doing benefit claimants need special rather than general punishments? Why not same for tax dodgers? And when someone has been caught doing cash-in-hand shifts do you really want to make it impossible for them to find a proper job & get off benefits? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

No Govt has cut public spending, cut services, jobs, wages & secured economic growth. UK PM says he will be "ruthless" in cutting public spending People will spend less. Due to lack of good food, housing, healthcare, education many won't be able to work Madness leftfootforward.org/2025/01/labo...

Spread the word. ✊

And we should do the same, but by local authority boundary. Second homes and homes for the short term letting market are poison to rural communities and we need far bolder action against them. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Lawyers for Liz Truss have asked me to stop saying Liz Truss crashed the economy. I only said Liz Truss crashed the economy because Liz Truss did crash the economy. If she wanted me to not say Liz Truss crashed the economy, she shouldn’t have crashed the economy. Please don’t share.

Staggeringly misleading & irresponsible article by Express online. Neither I nor my site've ever said that. It's a perversion of our "earn under £35k & it's worth checking a benefits calc to see if you're missing out on owt" into dangerous, trite clickbait.

We're #English but we fully support #Scottish Independence. Why would Scots want to remain ruled by a succession of Tory/Tory-lite UK govts??? And it will also force #England to stop flouncing around in Britannia-drag and face up to its fundamental problems of gross #inequality and #poverty.

What a great way to repurpose a coal mine! These mega batteries will store enough electricity to power three million homes ⚡ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Finland gave every homeless person a house and within 6 months 85% had a job and were financially independent. Less crime, less hospital visits, less suffering and even including the cost of the house, LESS COST than the UK/USA method of abandoning them on the streets.

The only way to guarantee that a future independent Scottish government has the ability to manage an economy geared to providing citizens with what could be classed a wellbeing economy is through issuing a Scottish currency from a Scottish central bank. bylines.scot/opinion/jour...

One of my favorites I’ve seen on here. ⬇️

"Abandoned dogs overwhelm UK shelters as weak regulations fuel a welfare crisis... Animal shelters and kennels are grappling with an increasingly desperate situation. Thousands of dogs... now face the harsh fate of abandonment, the uncertainty of rehoming or, in the most tragic cases, euthanasia."

This woman knows what she's talking about, get her elected.

Let’s not let this be blocked…. Private landowners related to the former Conservative Scottish Secretary, Alister Jack, accused of covertly backing a campaign to block plans for a new national park in Galloway. theferret.scot/landowner-ba...

Scotland has: The best train service The best Ferry service The best NHS The best Eductational System The best paid Teachers The best paid Nurses The best paid Police The fastest growth ........... in the UK. Can someone tell the Scottish media?

In reporting on the Nissan-Honda merger this morning, the @bbcworldservice talked of 'falling demand for EVs' This narrative is being repeated everywhere, and is just not backed up by the facts Global EV sales are 25% higher in 2024 than in 2023 rhomotion.com/news/record-...

The Prime Minister urgently needs to close any loophole’s that might allow foreign billionaires like Elon Musk to bankroll British political parties

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivilant per person of £10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.

Word of the day is ‘apanthropy’ (18th century): a dislike of company and the desire to be left alone.

Reform MPs demanding deportations without due process echoes fascist tactics, ignoring justice and human dignity. History warns us—Nazi Germany expelled Jews arbitrarily, laying groundwork for atrocities. Skipping scrutiny paves the way for abuses of power, targeting the vulnerable with impunity.🧵

Ireland has evicted the Israeli ambassador. If that is great, Like. If we need to evict ours and stop arming Israel, RT.

This is not just a warehouse. This is an M&S, Brexit clusterf*ck warehouse.

We’re expanding out for day 13 of my hunting crimes (b)advent with @huntsabs.bsky.social – it’s the horrific Quantock Staghounds . We must close the loopholes and exemptions in the Hunting Act - we need a #RealBanNow

Dr. Saed, the experienced orthopedic surgeon, was diagnosed with cancer just two weeks ago. Despite being injured by Israel months ago and losing his son a month ago, Dr. Saed continued working at the hospital. Today, while on his way there, Israel killed him with a direct sniper shot from a drone.

Outrage as video shows fox caught in 'barbaric' snare trap on King's Sandringham estate “This snare was placed alongside a rare Chalk Stream which is regularly used by otters” Repost if you agree there should be a UK wide ban on these devices!

You know this whole ‘tough choices’ thing from politicians? I think if they put the wellbeing of the public first, there wouldn’t be any tough choices. The choices would be clear. No close links to corporations. No low taxes for extremely wealthy people. End privatisation. Tackle climate crisis.
