If you have been affected by the exam fiasco @rcphysicians.bsky.social do contact the BMA for support www.bma.org.uk/bma-media-ce...

Unbelievable. 18 months after the exam sitting in question, the RCP have released this ⬇️ It’s a bit of a pattern, following the PA fiasco: RCP London finding yet another way to screw their own trainees. People made life & job decisions based on those exam results THE YEAR BEFORE LAST 😡 #MedSky

Morning folks. The Collective, of which I am a small part, are trying to make postgraduate careers better, making every medical career journey more viable, and improving retention of UK doctors. Help us out. Like and repost?

Vaccines work. Masks work. Lockdowns are sometimes necessary. Access to affordable healthcare/medicines is a human right. Immigrants are generally an asset. Equality/Diversity/Inclusion policies are a good idea. Abortion is sometimes needed to save life. Keep saying these things. Truth is important.

I’m not going to leave X just yet - I hate that sense of being driven away from a place I used to love. But after one day on here, I already know how much prefer it. So if you see this and would be kind enough to share it to let people find me, that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Bluesky’s science takeover: 70% of Nature poll respondents use platform Roughly 6,000 readers answered the poll, with many declaring that Bluesky was nicer, kinder and less antagonistic to science than X 👏 www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Looking forward to these

Irish equivalent of the GMC says it’s not the appropriate regulator for anyone other than Doctors GMC had the same view in 2014 as the UK ‘Independent’ Regulator of Doctors However it was ‘persuaded’ by UK Govts not long after Charlie Massey joined in 2016 🤔 www.imt.ie/news/medical...

Thank you Martin Mckee for this excellent response to the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges. doi.org/10.1136/bmj....

‘PAs have been in the UK for decades’ 2010 there were just 17 PA students 2014 Jeremy Hunt et al decided PAs were necessary 2015 there were just 15 working in GP practices 2016 Charlie Massey appointed GMC 2017 the year of the consultation on regulation just 63 PAs in GP Expansion without role scope

Oh no. This is so, so bad. www.science.org/content/arti...

I have a photo album I would like to reunite with a family - going to post about 7 b&w photos if you recognise anyone please DM me. There seems to be #Wallasey connection and they date from the early 1940s

From the other place. Let’s find this person.

I’m still quite new to Bluesky (only a couple of weeks) but my follow list and also people who follow me are both still disproportionately male. Please circulate among the women on here - and encourage more women to sign up. And let me know who I might still be missing so I can add them!

RCGP council meets tomorrow & will discuss sensible proposals about scope of practice for Physician Associates- which is dangerously undermined by the clause below. It seeks locally set scope for PAs already in post Not safe for patients, which is what GPs told their college. Vote this down council

I'm about to update a factsheet on how GPs can support patients with dementia through their condition, from diagnosis to later stages. I'm looking for UK GPs with an interest in #dementia willing to provide their insights. Really hard to know what's happening in primary care for those outside it!
