What you need to understand is that, just like Democrats spent years taking policy instructions from the loud online base on social media, the Republicans are now doing the same. The problem is that their loud online base aren't "people who want Medicare for All" but fascists.

I’m sorry but “we stan a murderer because it’s been impossible to change the American healthcare system through nonviolent means” rings a little hollow when 15 years ago people with “pre-existing conditions” couldn’t get health insurance and the thing that changed that was not an assassination.
