Can’t believe it took me so long to finally start watching “Modern Family”.

CPU, motherboard, and graphics card have been ordered so far. Need to look at RAM, SSD, and a power supply next before we look at enclosures and start putting things together.

My youngest son decided he wants to build a gaming PC this summer with my help. Going to go mid-range to start. Already ordered a graphics card. I’m probably more excited than he is.

Anyone know what the average turnaround time is for the resolution of an open ticket on @github.com?

I’m in. Who else?

Wow. This has turned out to be a mess. Not sure why an organization would be allowed to retain control over a feature in my personal account that I didn’t expressly give them in the first place even after being removed from their account.

Unfortunate thumbnail / play button combo

> Apple is updating Safari so that webpages start at the top of the screen and go down to the edge. The browser bar will appear at the bottom and adjust size as you scroll, while allowing users to access commonly used abilities, like refresh and search. Looks like the URL is straight up hidden? 😬

Talked with @jakearchibald.com about the possibility of an HTML `<include>`. Why doesn't it exist? Could it exist? *Should* it exist? I'm a little obsessed with this. shoptalkshow.com/668/

Careful when allowing a company to link your personal @github.com account to their enterprise account. I recently ended contract work with a company and was removed from their organization as expected. However, my #copilot subscription still says that it’s managed by them and has been disabled.

I have yet to see something positive on social about Apple’s introduction of Liquid Glass. Especially from the accessibility community. #a11y

I was lucky enough to be able to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 on launch day. There’s been so much Mario Kart World played in our house the last couple of days. It’s gotten pretty competitive. We may need to have a family tournament.

I saw someone here who mentioned the number of years they had been on Twitter in their bio. Brag or confession?

Just saw a @microsoft.com #Azure promoted post in my LinkedIn feed featuring @scott.hanselman.com talking about letting computers do the boring stuff and focusing on the creative things. That’s been my approach to using AI tools like #Copilot in web development lately.

Pushing myself to share more content and insight on LinkedIn. I feel like there’s some untapped potential for me there in terms of networking.

Created a basic API for serving up dad jokes last night. Went to register dadjokesapi dot com, but it was already taken and says, “Launching Soon”. Had to go with a different domain, and now I need to speed up my project. Want to beat them to the punch[line].

I don’t think I will ever be a fan of hiding site navigation on large screens under a hamburger/mobile menu.

“Do not publish your designs on the web with Figma sites unless you want to fail all the WCAGs, create litigation risk, close off opportunities in Europe, engage in reputational harm, and oh yeah, throw up barriers to your customers and users.” adrianroselli.com/2025/05/do-n... #a11y

Wow. Did not see that coming.

@shashi.bsky.social is an amazing per and someone I’ll be forever grateful to have met. Check out his story!

Now I’m already looking at SvelteKit again and wondering if I go in that direction instead of Next.js. There are simply too many dev tools out there.

Working on learning Next.js now to help increase my skillset a bit. Going to try and focus on this for a while and not jump to something else a week or two from now.

"Hey web team! Can you add this 'our website sucks' modal to the website?"

Challenged CSS KING @kevinpowell.co to a little CSS battle

My very first lobster roll - or “Lobsta Roll” as it’s called here. When in Boston. Or anywhere in New England really.

Driving in Boston is definitely not on my list of fun things to do while here, but it’s necessary at times unfortunately.

Love this. Great devs and it’s fun to watch.

[New blog post] Are CSS Carousels accessible sarasoueidan.com/blog/css-car... In this post, I share some important insights from examining the accessibility of CSS-only carousels that use new features introduced in the #CSS Overflow Module Level 5 spec. #a11y

I had a number of issues the first time I tried using Replit Agent a few months ago. Tried it again tonight, and it’s amazing. Kudos to the entire #Replit team. Outstanding work.

If there’s casting for a documentary about The Beatles, Diego Luna in Andor gives me some serious young Paul McCartney vibes at times. Anyone else see it? Or is it just me?

I love hearing outside perspectives on American culture. I find it fascinating to see how we’re viewed as a people by people from other countries. Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

In keeping with learning new things this weekend, I set up a #Twilio account to test working with SMS notifications.

Finally took the time to learn how to use GutHub Actions to deploy changes to a WordPress site when pushed to the repo. Should have tried this a long time ago. Late to the game on the whole CD/CI process, but this will make things easier.
