I made these last night, inspired by President Zelenskyy’s courage in the face of a bully. They’ll be for sale at the Night of Artists Art Walk (March 14-16) in #yeg, and all proceeds will go to Ukrainian relief efforts. It’s not much, but it’s something. #artheals #Ukraine

New to me colours on this one! I normally choose colours that are bright and clear, but I decided to play with muted tones. I found it challenging to bring in the light, and halfway through, I was ready to chuck it. But happy with it now, after some metallic ink and canary yellow! #doodleart #art

I was worried about this one half way through the process. But my motto is “Draw until you like it.” So I did, and now I do!

What a difference paper makes! I’m working on a giant doodle on Strathmore mixed media, and it’s giving me no end of trouble. So, I jumped into a wee piece as a refresh, and used glorious Arches hot press watercolour paper. This paper is a DREAM to work with and takes colour so beautifully!

My big 18x24 doodle is ready for colour! One guess what I’m doing today?! #doodleart #abstractbotanical #Art #artist

Hey friends, I need your vote! My piece, Life is a Flower, is in the running to be on the cover of an art magazine. If you like this piece, can you please spare a like for it? All you need to do is click the link and give it a heart. So many thanks! m.shortstack.page/sbBrb4?sre=X...

Big drawing day yesterday! I’m hoping to *maybe* finish today?! Then comes colour — my favourite part! #doodleart #zendoodle #abstractbotanical

Working on a BIG 18x24 piece of paper. In progress — I won’t stop until it’s covered, but I’m happy with how it’s going. This is about 8 hours in…

The biggest piece of this style that I’ve done. It was a big challenge, mostly because of early errors I made, in both the composition and colour choices. I had to compensate for them over the whole piece, which made my life harder than it needed to be. But I am happy with the final result!

New year, new drawing, new colour palette. Excited to see this one come to life! #Doodleart

“Her Name Was Lola…” This one gives definite showgirl vibes. The colours make me happy!

The #ArtAdventCalendar may be over, but there are still millions of great reasons to fill this platform with art. So, here’s my snowy doodle, now coloured!

#Day25Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. A #GoldenDoodle. 🐕

#Day24Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. A snowflake doodle for Christmas Eve!

#Day23Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. Tendrils.

#Day22Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. How I colour my drawings, at super speed!

#Day21Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. To me, this one looks like a mound of grim reapers, which for some reason, makes me chuckle.

#Day20Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. A much earlier doodle, before I had found my style. I still like this one, even though it’s quite different from what I do now.

#Day19Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. Another layered doodle. This one has a doodle drawn on paper at the back, with several layers of alcohol ink on plexiglass in front. It’s built, diorama-like, with a depth of about an inch in the frame.

#Day18Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalender. A sweet little blue bouquet for a very wintry day.

#Day17Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. This was a pattern challenge I was invited to participate in on Instagram. I enjoy working in minute detail, but I learned I’m not a fan of regular patterns — I much prefer organic shapes. But it was fun to try, and I loved working with the colours.

#Day16Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. Just finished this one last night. Can’t wait to colour it!

#Day15Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. I learned in the making of this piece that I am not a mandala person. But I do like how this one turned out!

#Day14Doodle for #ArtAdventCalendar: Some paisleys and petals for you!

Lucky #Day13Doodle for the #ArtAdventCalendar. A bit of a departure from my usual kind of doodle. This one is alcohol ink with doodles on several sheets of transparencies. It’s assembled like a diorama, and is about an inch thick in the frame. Reminds me of an Italian hill town on a winter night.
