If there's one part of video creation I hate, it's generating thumbnails. It's crazy how much contradictory information there is out there on how to make them. Put your face in them Don't put your face in them. Don't put text in them. Put text in them, because nobody reads titles. Arg.

Had to nip out just now for some bits. Walked past a 10 year old kid who was standing on his doorstep drinking orange squash out of a beer stein. His entire body language said 'Yeah, I'm the coolest kid in the street right now.' It has left me unreasonably amused.

They say that the best way to learn things is by doing. And it's true. I'm currently hip deep in three consecutive video edits. Each poses its own unique challenges. And bouncing between them is a good way to learn how my software's deeper functionality can fix them all.

I've had a really productive morning. Most of the production level issues we had seem to be pretty much all ironed out now. I'm at a place where I havea lot more confidence in how to get these long-ass videos finished. Time to start getting stuff finished and delivered, I guess!

Not gonna lie - I'm pretty excited about the new Ghost in the Shell anime. Especially as it's skewing close to the aesthetic of the original manga. NOT so enthused about the notion of it being gated behind a streaming service or priced sky high to own on disc, though. Because that's where we're at.

Aw, dammit! I just managed to break the adapter cable on my Sennheiser headphones (a pair of HD560s.) These are the ones I use to mix and edit Doomed Colonist videos. So, I guess I'll be taking a trip to town to see if I can find a generic replacement. If it had been the main cable, I'd be stuffed!

I've been working on something REALLY bloody exciting today. I'm itching to share it, but one of the problems with Doomed Colonist content is that it always means playing a SUPER long game. So if I show it off now, I worry that it'll look old-hat by the time it's ready to actually use. Oh, well.
