I’m in the same boat. A few weeks ago I was all for it. But Trump’s polling is cratering and the economy is tanking. At the moment that chain is all hung around his neck. I’m worried that a shutdown would shift the blame for a bad economy the D’s.

I received one of the 232 NIH grant "terminations" sent to scientists at Columbia last night. My research focuses on improving maternal and child health in the US. Also affected: ongoing clinical trials, research training programs, and research centers that aim to improve the health of Americans.

The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable.
