I'm currently rereading Dickens's 'Our Mutual Friend' (which I think is his masterpiece), and although it's set 30 years before this photograph, it really helps to bring to life the Six Jolly Fellowship Porters, a pub that Dickens is likely to have based on the Grapes, Limehouse.
