Made my own Apple wallet card for my @thecbso.bsky.social concert this evening; mostly as I’m too lazy to unlock my phone 🤣 Going to be broadcast live on Radio 3, you can hopefully not hear me cough!

TICTeC 25 is going ahead exactly as planned. As you might have heard, we were briefly affected by the US federal funding freeze - but we're glad to say we're back on track. www.mysociety.org/2025/02/25/t...

Clicked a button by mistake, got given this total nonsense by GitHub’s “AI”. The error is in the Zürich tests because a function is trying to be called on an undefined value, but the AI says that the error is to do with retrieving something from a cache? Trebles all round!

Went to the Birmingham Light Festival this evening. Not pictured, dancing at the Silent Disco x Floor Is Lava; playing Night Badminton; the Door at New Street

A lot of books I want to read in the @sfxmagazine.bsky.social reviews this month

“It’s the hope that keeps us here” – billboard poster by the empty land that used to be the wholesale markets

Who Funds Them? Join @rosewhiff.bsky.social, @chriscook.news & mySociety as we discuss MPs' financial interests, from second jobs to gifts and donations — and explain what needs to change to make them more transparent to all. This online event is free to all: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/whofundsth...

Went to Reading, saw a production of Terry Pratchett’s “Night Watch”, visited @themerl.bsky.social (twice) and @readingmuseum.bsky.social, saw Dog Man, played Reading-themed crazy golf, and saved 20% with a Banbury split (bit like a Glasgow block): split.traintimes.org.uk/BRV/RDG/n/10...

I see nearly 600 years ago the Houses of Parliament managed to move out to Reading Abbey, wonder if they’ll ever decide what to do now

Oh good, have we moved on from AI

Did he, Spotify?

A full size firework display is going off somewhere over towards/past the Cadbury factory in the daylight, wonder if someone has pressed the button early for something!

Next Saturday (8th), at 3pm in St Francis’s, Bournville, South Birmingham Sinfonia are playing a concert of film music, with Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Jaws, Nutcracker, Star Wars, and more. Tickets are available at www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/bir... or on the door. Would be lovely to see you 🎻

Don’t get to do this sort of thing as often nowadays, was lovely to see old friends and meet new ones

“Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.” – Hogfather, Terry Pratchett

The Post Office can’t even get the absolute basics right; ah well, not like I get enough exercise, and I did hear a tawny owl 🦉

Lovely art at Moseley Park entrance by Annatomix

Wonder how much GB News is worrying about complying with the Online Safety Act. Hopefully the actual type of thing Ofcom will be looking at

It feels like this graph is missing an entry (apparently it wasn’t in scope), and it would be the top entry! According to lordslibrary.parliament.uk/restoration-... in 2023 they assessed the Houses of Parliament Essential Scheme at £10.5-21bn with full decant, or £17-48bn with continued presence.

The video has been removed, and replaced by a different one! This one asks “What are all of the tobacco duties?” and then gives some random Finance Acts, not including the Finance Act 2024 which contains the current rates, nor the Tobacco Products Duty Act 1979, which is the statutory basis.

None of the examples at the end of the first video on ai.gov.uk/projects/lex/ are to do with the question of “sailing a tall ship through Tower Bridge”? * The Corporation of London (Tower Bridge) Act 1885 * The City of London (Various Powers) Act 1971 * The Port of London Act 1968, section 111

Perhaps I’m odd, but summarising my notifications is not something I have ever wanted. I want to read them, that’s what they’re for; if I didn’t, I would turn them off? Or perhaps I’m just not popular enough ;)
