Trans women aren't men who want to be women. They are women born in a male body. Trans men aren't women who want to be men, they are men born in a female body. If more people understood that, it would go a long way toward making the world friendlier toward trans people.

Hospital protests have begun for hospitals that are complying with an executive order banning gender affirming care. The order does NOT have the force of law, but some hospital systems are too scared of trump to defend trans kids in their care. This one at UVA Hospital.

As I'm starting my physical transition I'm realizing that I can't think of many men or non-binary representation like me (fat, flamboyant/feminine) who aren't either the comic relief or the villain. Especially not trans characters. We aren't taken seriously and if we are, we are evil and perverted.
