My family was Mennonite. My mom’s cousin, Delores, had scarlet fever as a girl. She was forever like an infant. My generation loved her so much- we’d read to her and feed her bottles. I was an adult before I learned that she was my mom’s age and that she could’ve been treated with antibiotics.
