At a press conference today, a group of scientists announced that if a killer asteroid was about to strike Earth, it should be kept a secret to avoid panic. When asked why they were making this announcement they said “Oh, no reason”.

What Pierre Poilievre leaves out here is that the previous Conservative government cut military spending to 0.99% of GDP, and the liberal government was investing heavily in the military, and was on track to have it up to 2% by 2025 until the pandemic hit

In emergency we often receive so many handover patients that it takes the entire shift to safely reassess all of them without being able to see any new patients. I am certain that another preventable tragedy is imminent. How many more patients have to die before this is fixed?

Patients are spending days (sometimes over a week) on hallway stretchers, being cared for by a different doctor every 8 hours. (Those same doctors are managing a rapid influx of new patients requiring evaluation and care.) There is no way to provide quality care in this situation

Emergency shift yesterday evening. 40 patients in the waiting room, some waiting over 24 hours, the hallways jammed with patients waiting for beds (most still under the Emergency doctor), juggling too many critical patients. Doing it again tonight and dreading it.
