All these years later, I am realizing that Final Fantasy VI’s revelation that Shadow used to be a thief is probably a reference to the fact that in FF1 the thief class upgrades to ninja.

Question for girls and/or hair people: What do we call the hairstyle of Aerith from FFVII where the part of her hair that's not bulled back splits into two pieces that hang to the sides of her face. Are they... bangs? I'm needing to refer to them in text and I don't have a clue what to call them.
