After more heartbreak and a low point on the season, the immediate question surrounding the Grizzlies is simple: Does this team have what it takes to get off the ropes? They will certainly have their doubters. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

Questions for the Grizzlie door this week? You have roughly 3ish hours to get them in. Don't let me down BlueSky.

Ja Morant and Santi Aldama both likely out tonight for the Grizzlies.

Santi Aldama let it rout on Saturday night, voicing frustrations with the Grizzlies' play since returning from the All-Star break. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

Luke Kennard was just ejected. Yes, you read that correctly.

If the Grizzlies are gonna win this, these fourth quarter minutes while JJJ rests will be CRITICAL.

Bane, Clarke, Morant, and Williams are all out for the Grizzlies tonight.

Laaate post. Chris and I are recording a podcast at 8:45 am tomorrow. If I get enough, we will answer questions from the BlueSky folks. Drop them here⬇️

He was really great. Felt significant that he hit big shots in a game of that nature, too. Hes so cool-headed. Not your typical rookie.

Ja Morant's dance moves came back on Tuesday. Turns out, they came with an assist. "Des was continuing to yell at me, telling me that the team (feeds) off me and go out and be me." Sounds like some good (and important) advice. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

That was the most fun game of the season. The Suns played really well. The Grizzlies win. Ja Morant overcomes tough shooting in the first 3 quarters to take over in the 4th and OT - 29 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds.

Halftime take: The Grizzlies did not go to Jaren Jackson Jr. enough. Not nearly enough. He was getting whatever he wanted.

If Jaren Jackson Jr. has a clean post-up on Grayson Allen, it's probably a possession he should get the ball.

Ja Morant on social media: "Yeah, I hate it there. The only reason I'm on it still is because I have endorsements and stuff I gotta post. I don't really want to be on there. Hopefully yall enjoy it now because when I hang it up yall won't see me no more."

I reached out to Grizzlies GM Zach Kleiman to see if he would comment about the recent speculation around Ja. Here’s what he had to say: “I can’t blame other “executives” for fantasizing about us trading Ja. But it’s just that - fantasy. We are not trading Ja." Cont...

Bluesky knows first.

Jaylen Wells fans, this one is a treat. The story behind how the entire D-II Sonoma State basketball team ended up at the Grizzlies-Clippers game last night, and why Wells will wear special shoes made by a fan Italy in the Rising Stars tourney. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

@chrisherrington.bsky.social providing some welcome perspective on the Smart trade. Grizzlies fans who want to support local media need to subscribe to the Daily Memphian- Chris and @drewhilldailym.bsky.social do great work.

Jaren Jackson Jr. on the team having more than one closer: "I'm already on the network. You don't have to add a new phone line."

Am I nuts for thinking it's not that crazy Jenkins put in GG Jackson when he did? He hasn't played in 4 months. The team has been playing well. If you were going to fit him into the rotation, you would probably start in the 2nd quarter and see how it goes. It's just punctuated by Santi.

Taylor Jenkins made $18,000 in his first coaching job. He mopped the practice court and sometimes drove the team passenger van. The D League taught humility. Let the 2008 and 2012 Austin Toros players take you back in time to explain why Jenkins is the way he is dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

Every time the Grizzlies get close, the Spurs have a counterpunch. Memphis needs to buckle down defensively to sustain a push.

Wrote what I think is one of my best long-form Grizz features earlier this week. Worked on it for a month - objectively good stuff. Of course, it is about Taylor Jenkins. Just in time for everyone to be throwing a fit on the other app. Lovely! Anyway, excited for the non-ragers to read it.

Sharing this piece on Zach Edey and his potential run at ROTY. Hint: I think he's a deserving favorite at the moment. It also includes a fun story from Kelly Olynyk about Edey's time with team Canada before the 2023 FIBA World Cup. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

It gets real ugly on the other app after losses, geez. Memphis lost in LA on a night Anthony Davis was completely dominant. Grizz couldn't finish around the rim the entire first half. It happens. Exhale. Looking forward to the game on Thursday. Should be electric. Motivation abundant.

The Grizzlies are rolling and trolling. dailymemphian.com/section/spor...

Sharing this story on Brandon Clarke, who said his journey back to full health extended longer than you may have realized. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

News: Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. is donating $50,000 to the National Civil Rights Museum's Youth Education Fund for Giving Tuesday. He also presented a $1 million donation to the museum at the Freedom Award in October on behalf of the NBPA & NBA. dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

Zach Edey was lacing up his shoes and doing some 1-on-0 at the end of shootaround today. Will see if Jenkins has any new information today before the game.

Taylor Jenkins classifies Ja Morant’s status as “day to day” with a knee contusion. He’s out tonight.

Column on an incredible Monday for basketball in Memphis: dailymemphian.com/subscriber/s...

Maybe a little surprising Jenkins is using a lineup that features none of the Big 3 in the 1st quarter.

“Obviously, I had to be smart and cautious, but I hate being off the floor,” Morant said. “As soon as they gave me the word that I could start the better recovery stuff and get off the crutches, I just attacked it like I normally do.” dailymemphian.com/section/spor...

Big week ahead for the Grizz? This guy feels likely to be back tonight 👀

A record starts at No. 1 To capture Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins' historic moment, here are comments from - Jenkins' old high school coach - the first coach to hire him, Quin Snyder - the coach he passed, Lionel Hollins - and, yes, even Penny Hardaway dailymemphian.com/section/spor...

Taylor Jenkins becomes the winningest coach in Grizzlies franchise history in the regular season, passing Lionel Hollins. Story soon. Lionel sent me this message: "Records are made to be broken and Taylor has had a successful run. Congratulations to him!"
