It is encouraging to see the massive turnout for No Kings. The fascists will never break us.

Rep Melissa Hortman has been assassinated, along with her husband. This is how the war starts.

There has been an assassination attempt on two Dem lawmakers in Minnesota. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Yeah, everything is falling apart, but I'm still going to post every Sheldrick Elephant post I come across. Hope to go there one day.

Literally everyone who knew anything about this ghoul knew he'd do this. It wasn't even a warning. It was obvious. That's why it's so infuriating to watch him jeopardize the country.

Looking for new material for your #Vaesen game? Check out my two modules on #DTRPG - the Jersey Devil and Hollow and Horseman. And check back on July 4th for my next piece, American Legends, which will have stats for Paul Bunyan, Uncle Sam and others. www.drivethrurpg.com/en/browse?au... #TTRPG

My new tiny pop up writing table. While I don’t mind squatting, sometimes it’s pleasant to sit at a table like an actual adult. #writing

Lemeki and Thamana are helping bring Chapeyu out of his shell! Chapeyu is a spear victim we’ve fought tirelessly to save over the past four months. He’s found a safe and supportive place to heal. While his recovery is far from over, we are happy with his progress: t.co/v0KPddUbVI

Finally wrapped up the outline for my next novel. Should have been done about a month ago... but better late than never. Now, a little more research, a few mods to character arcs and a few decisions to make with world-building (I have some decisions to make about how magic works)... 1/2

Today's work station... balcony with a (sort of) view of the Potomac. In DC/North Virginia, we're still in the pre-swamp weather, so I'm enjoying it. But the swamp is coming. It always does. #writing

The new head of FEMA is unaware that we have a hurricane season. That tracks. www.yahoo.com/news/exclusi...

Heard one of the worst (non-harassment) #ttrpg horror stories yesterday. A friend who had never played was invited to a D&D game. 2 hours before the session was to begin, he was told he was the DM, given the intro docs for 5e & expected to run the game. Needless to say, he never played again.

Nothing productive scheduled for today. Except rigidly following my scheduled non-productive time… Hmmmm….

Now that I've wrapped up the first video for the Script Slayers series (warts and all), time to move back into writing. Today is another research day. Almost done with going through background material for the next novel. Just one more push and then I get to start writing. #booksky #writing

The first episode of my new YouTube series - Script Slayers - is out. In this episode, my partner Steph and I review and rewrite Alien Romulus, fixing the issues we had with the screenplay. Check it out and subscribe - we plan on doing a few of these every month. youtu.be/syYZcQF-NdU

Doctor Brainworm is now threatening to block government researchers from publishing in peer reviewed journals like The New England Journal of Medicine, unless they align with his insane beliefs. #RFKJr #Antiscience

Editing and title animation done. Soon, I will be a YouTube star... I mean, as soon as I get a better haircut and lose about 20 years. Anyway, I'll announce when the first episode of the new Script Slayers (now with video) is out. #FilmSky

Today, in addition to trying to get some gig work, I'm editing the first episode of my new YouTube channel, Script Slayers. It's based on the podcast of the same name (which you can find on Spotify) in which I and my co-host review and rewrite problematic films. First up, Alien: Romulus. #filmsky

Wow. Being both lazy enough to use AI to write and then even lazier to leave your prompts in your published work. That's a lazy level even I am afraid to attempt. futurism.com/fantasy-nove...

Is GAI an existential threat? This piece from an expert in the field makes a good case for answering yes to that question and immediately terminating (heh) all AI systems. time.com/6266923/ai-e...

Research for the next #Vaesen module -American Legends - is proceeding nicely. In addition to Paul Bunyan, John Henry and Uncle Sam, I’m adding Columbia. This should come in at about 12 pages and be available on July Fourth. #ttrpg #gamedesign

Generative AI has terrible accuracy and often makes things up. But people use it because they are dumb and lazy. Like this beauty from the Chicago Sun Times. www.404media.co/chicago-sun-...

What’s up next for game design? American Legends for #Vaesen. Paul Bunyan, John Henry, and Uncle Sam, with background, stats, and adventure seeds. Looking to have this out on the Fourth of July. I mean, that deadline just sets itself 🙂 #ttrpg

Watched Andor s2 today. A masterpiece of writing, acting, direction, music, cinematography and effects/set design. There an are few quibbles with bits and pieces of the two seasons, but this is some of the best storytelling I’ve seen in years. 5/5 #Andor #filmsky

Older video (3 months… seems like another age) from Dr Noc, but still relevant. A great take down of RFK jr and, obliquely, an example of how hard it is to combat misinformation in real-time if delivered with total confidence. The Trumpist excel at this style of propaganda. youtu.be/1kbghtB4E7o?...

The next #ttrpg project is another #Vaesen module. This will be a short one about Paul Bunyan, as well as some other material about North American giants.

Watche Gladiator 2 last night. Terrible film. Poorly written, derivative of the first plot, poorly acted, mostly shot like a mid-budget streamer, forgettable score. I’m not sure what anyone involved was thinking. One decent action scene and a few good Denzel moments, but not watchable. 0/5. #filmsky

My new #Vaesen game module, Hollow and Horseman, is now available on Drivethru RPG. It has new Vaesen, a description of Sleepy Hollow with NPCs and scenario ideas, new powers... and, of course, a headless dude flinging pumpkins about. Check it out. #TTRPG www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...

What a day. Spent the entire time editing and formatting my Sleepy Hollow module for #Vaesen, but it's finally done. It will be available tomorrow. I'll publish the link when it is live. 26 pages, 5 new Vaesen, some new powers and a bunch of scenario seeds. Pretty happy with all my work. #TTRPG

I promise, no more jalapeño images after this, but I'm happy with today's harvest. These are going to be pickled. Num num num.

Rando post... I'm very happy with the yield from my jalapeño plant... and it is HOT. Like "oh my god, my mouth is on fire" hot. Oh, and it's turning one year old. I just planted a few seeds from a pepper and got an amazing plant.

Looking for a great contemporary fantasy podcast? Sure you are. Check out The Curia Chronicles, 10 stories about demons and the people who hunt them, set in the 1960s. If you like the series, check out my novel of the same name. #podcast #horror #fantasy #fiction open.spotify.com/show/6HWEuuW...

Yeah, this is me. Didn't feel like cutting and pasting. I wound up liking The Exorcist more than I thought it would, even though there were problems (the Merrin character is as sketchy in the nocel as he is in the mocha, for example). Anyway, it's worth a read if you like slow burn horror.
