Criticizing is fast and easy. Creating is slow and difficult. The two hours you spent on a book or movie took someone two years to produce. Anyone can tear down someone else's work. The true test of insight is whether you can help them improve it or build something of your own.

When you try to use Google translate on a project workplan, but the translator work up in the same mood as you

Happy holidays! We have a great PhD opportunity if you’d like to work with us in Edinburgh Linking the well-behaved vet with better PatiEnT Outcomes at University of Edinburgh on FindAPhD.com

When groups meet to brainstorm, good ideas are lost. People bite their tongues due to conformity pressure, noise, and ego threat. A better approach is brainwriting: generate ideas separately, then meet to assess and refine. Group wisdom begins with individual creativity.

The day I go crazy they'll say "I knew there was something wrong with her, the way she poured the milk first, and then the coffee"

A little random of a recommendation, but for the others like me juggling the mental load of trying to be good at work and a good parent, parenting meets comedy in one of my favorite pods: www.whatfreshhellpodcast.com

Time to board to Rome. If my OOO message was honest, it would say "I am reluctantly travelling one more time this year, and your email is adding to my mental load. Consider recalling your message and scheduling it for 2025". (Add link to recalling message tutorial.. and scheduling send...)

This is your Monday friendly reminder not to be the annoying coworker. Don't ask "why don't you" or "why not" questions. Don't be that person! Phrase all your comments as a concrete suggestion! You can be critical, if you are constructive!

Boarding to Bangkok. If my OOO message was honest it would say: "I am on mission and at a 7h time difference, your email is supposed to stay in wait on my inbox until next week. But due to lack of self-control and a habit of overwhelming myself, I probably will reply right away"

Welcome to all the newcomers! I will maintain the list of folks in animal health/animal welfare/veterinary medicine. If you want to be included, please message me or reply to this post and i'll add you. Also, please share with your network! go.bsky.app/6wvTJFK

Anyone out there who was at the #ISVEE17. What was the favorite new thing you heard about. I have a few, but I think my favorite was wildalert.org

It is Monday, this is your friendly reminder that when reviewing documents this week, don't be that person who adds comments as tracked changes text...

#VeterinaryEpidemiology doesn't seem to be a thing here yet, so I'm putting this out there in case others like me are here to find their crowd. #animalHealth #healthSurveillance #epidemiology #EarlyWarning
