Just another refugee from that cesspool formerly known as Twitter. Science nerd by training & vocation. Avid Chicago Cubs fan since at least 1974. Political Liberal who, at one point in time years ago, occasionally voted for Republicans. Howdy!

Cool!

They should be worried. Overstep and avarice are actual things.

FAFO.

And tonight's silent film feature, accompanied by live Wurlitzer organ,... Within Our Gates!

Elections have consequences. We F& warned you-all.

Note to self: Dear self: Minimize commercial flying the next few years.

"Move fast & break things" is no way for a Government to function.

We need Pete Buttigieg as a clear messenger, more than ever.

A Trump-Musk memo telling US government employees to hide what’s happening from the public is a sign that: 1) Public legitimacy is a constraint for them, they know it, and will at times alter their behavior accordingly 2) Reporters should focus on it, revealing more of what they’re trying to hide

I'm so ready for spring. This started as light snow, morphed into sleet, & now switching to freezing rain. Ugh!!!

Yep. Lost at least 2 really good coworkers this afternoon simply because they had been with us less than a year. Sucks.

So today,... Two extremely qualified coworkers, who happened to be employed by 'us' for less than 1 year, but who had done their jobs well, were informed by email at about 2:30 on Friday afternoon that they were being 'let go' for cause. I'm going to miss working with them both.

Got my annual influenza vaccination mid September. Got COVID (a very mild case) at the end of September. Got my COVID booster mid January this year. Have had annual Flu vaccinations every year since 1996. Ask me when was the last bad case of flu I had. Thinking about a shingles vaccine.

That's gotta bruise the old ego & id a bit.

Every accusation is a confession.

I'm way too old (probably) at this point to participate effectively, but make med-school free & I just might take that path. I love the idea of being a GP for an underserved population.

"People who like to sound tough reflexively back the guys with guns over the guys in jeans with sacks of grain or the guys in suits with papers. But take it from someone who spent nearly 1,500 days downrange over the course of 20 years: USAID is worth every penny." www.thebulwark.com/p/usaid-kept...

Brilliant. @borowitzreport.bsky.social

I've got news for you Mr. president (lower case intended), since I switched to LED light bulbs & a more efficient electric water heater I 1) Don't have to change bulbs very often & 2) My monthly electric bills have decreased. I ain't going back.

A sad moment from my workday yesterday. A long term coworker & friend who happens to be gay recently became our group's supervisor. He spent part of his day going around the building removing diversity & equity signage. He felt he was being erased. I honestly didn't have a useful response.

If you’re wondering if you’re in a constitutional crisis and that the republic could collapse at any moment, you are.

Imagine if @aoc @sanders.senate.gov , every dem, SIMULTANEOUSLY held Town Halls where they allowed grant and contract recipients to explain to the country what it is they do and why it's important Invite all media. Including RW podcasters. @spaces Flood the zone Call it a Day Of Transparency

Some of the cognitive dissonance on "X" this morning is simultaneously confusing and astounding. Especially some of the rhetoric on DEI stuff.

Dear @Doge If there is nothing to hide. Hide nothing

Nicely done.
