My other 1 or 2 2024 game is Endeavor Deep Sea. It’s a highly interactive, action selection game based on action points. I love how the board builds up during the game and how the different scenarios require players to change strategy from game to game, including board development. #boardgamesky

My numbers 1 and 2 can be easily interchangeable. The Gang is just a simple but great cooperative puzzle. People say you need to know poker to play it, but I actually believe it’s more of a hinderance because of the bad habits they bring when trying to communicate what they have. #boardgamesky

What can I say about Harmonies? My number 3 #boardgame of 2024 is so pretty and has a lot of depth to it. It’s got a puzzle that is hard to figure out in terms of point optimization. Definitely a keeper. I can’t wait to see expansions for this game! #boardgamesky

My top 4 #boardgames of 2024 are at a different league from the rest of the top 10 (although I just played Amalfi Renaissance last nice and had an amazing time). Wondrous Creatures comes at #4 because it helped that I played with the right people most times. This game can be long if people have AP.

Just played Nukumi Onsen Takanuki, a great Japanese bag builder about building a hot springs area. It gives Orleans vibes. This #boardgame needs to be picked up by an English-speaking publisher so it can have multilingual translation. #boardgamesky #bagbuilder #funtimes

Played Darwin’s Journey with Fireland expansion at 3 and 4 players. Lost both times. Because the expansion adds the adventures, I’d not play again at 4 players. It does make the game better in terms of decision space. #boardgames #boardgaymer #boardgamesky

This past weekend I got to play Arnak w the first expansion, Ra, Castle Combo, and Gachapon Trick. CC wasn’t bad in person (I had only played it on BGA). GT has an interesting take on trick taking where you can buy cards in the trick to collect sets. #boardgames #boardgaymer #boardgamesky

I’m not usually a fan of solo #boardgames but I really wanted to try Witchcraft by @25thcentury.games. It’s a very challenging game - I failed my first two games, with the first not lasting even 5 min. I can’t wait to play more!!! Also, the artwork is just beautiful!

My number 5 #boardgame of 2024 was a pleasant surprise. I was originally skeptical of this game after having played its predecessor, Glass Road. It’s got a beautiful cover and good components. Definitely in my top 10 Uwe games, closer to top 5.

My #boardgame in 6th place from 2024 was much higher until I played other games. Arcs is a beautiful game. Having different scoring conditions allows different strategies to at don’t necessarily build up from round to round. I don’t like Root, but this game worked so well for me.

I was hoping to play a couple of trick takers at #levelup #boardgame retreat. To my surprise, I played nine! Most of them were with Mr. @cardboardeast.bsky.social himself! Among the games were Dokkito Ice, Baronda, Nokosu Dice, and Zoostock.

Had the opportunity to play #everdell #silverfrost #boardgame at LevelUp retreat this past weekend. This is what Farshore should’ve been. This is definitely an upgraded version, tighter, but with interesting decisions. There’s something about the artwork that doesn’t click for me though.

I’m not usually a fan of roll and writes, but my number 7 #boardgame of 2024 is Draft and Write Records. I think this was also an overlooked game that came out at the end of 2023. This is actually a game that I only played on BGA because it was still hard to find in the US.

My number 8 #boardgame of 2024 is Amalfi Renaissance. This Euro game came out late 2023 but to the US in 2024. A few reasons why I love this game: 1. Your workers (ships) are also your resources, so there’s a tension about when to use it for resources or take actions.

Just started the tutorial for #elderscrolls. This might be one of the most fiddly #boardgames I’ve ever played. I’m excited about it though. The companion app helps. When I took a break, Jordan took over for me. She did a good job.
