Yeah if I thought there was even a 5% chance of being renditioned to Gitmo or El Salvador for the crime of leaving my passport at the hotel, I would simply not travel. This is going to kill tourism.

I am learning that seeing these photos never, ever gets old. I mean, the book isn't even out yet. But still. Just an amazing feeling.

I should have tracked the hours I've spent on talks and slides. It's most certainly not scholarship, but there is a craft to it. It's teaching, of a type.

Fondly remembering how my 6yo came home from camp yesterday and crushed 3 cold slices of leftover pizza. What a hero.

Hard to concentrate on anything these days but journal articles in particular?

Ahhh some books are starting to pop up in the wild! 😱

I feel like the cybertruck's downfall is best illustrated by the resurgent Ford Bronco. It seems like car people with money to spend want something they can customize/individualize in fun colors, not something with the aesthetics of a kitchen appliance.

I am not at all concerned about this space being a "bubble" because I don't come here to debate or really to gain perspective or broaden my horizons. I connect with friends and sometimes read news.

Let me tell you shocked I am that people are uncomfortable with students and employees at universities being emotional and institutions, in turn, recognizing the reality of our emotional lives.

Love my mom, but the way she watches Facebook videos at full volume 😫

"Core infrastructure" means "fixed costs" means further erosion of the power and value of the people who work at universities.

This is thread is also good advice for those of us outside of higher ed.

I found this piece from @drkevinrmcclure.com really helpful. There's a link to the CHE piece and also a quick distillation in this brief thread. Thank you!

I’m tired of these terrible depictions of higher ed in the media. One of the professors in Wicked is a goat?! That’s…well, okay, that one’s maybe accurate.

This what my kid bought at his school’s market day. I believe it’s a book mark, but unsure of the design…

What is the nations league? Why are there so many soccer tournaments?!

I’m embarrassingly proud of myself for this.

How do you create a quality learning environment, which requires trust, when the students on campus do this in order to become famous?

Welp our provost is off to become president of Coastal Carolina.

HI. I pre-ordered Kevin's book and I think you should, too.

I went into the writing process wanting a book that people would pick up & read. Which is to say, I wanted readers. And so I was clear w/ myself & others that I was going to sell it so that it would get to readers. For anyone interested, here are some of my steps (many reflected in this article).

Very niche skeet but for any fans of Great Grandpa, they've released a long-awaited follow-up to their 2019 album. And it's great!
