We are delighted that the Government have heard our calls to introduce supervised tooth-brushing schemes for 3-to-5-year-olds. We once again urge the Government to go further and address the undeniable link between deprivation and tooth decay. 👉 www.rcpch.ac.uk/news-events/...

New NHS data reveals over 56 thousand children are waiting for treatment in Wales. Our recommendations for the Welsh Government and NHS Wales remain the same - put children first and prioritise a healthy future. Our response: www.rcpch.ac.uk/news-events/...

Hi @bmj.com Can you add a Bluesky share button instead of the X button you have please?

I don’t know what went wrong here, and would welcome complete transparency so that we can understand. I agree that we have to hold our exams to the absolute highest standards, and part of that is about owning any mistakes and correcting them. No doctor should be disadvantaged by this.

I will believe this when I see it. I qualified in 2006 I have lived through MMC, the Tooke Report, MTAS, FPAS and Shape of Training They all have a few things in common… …sadly, none good conversations have been happening for months. They’re announcing it now as a distraction #MedSky #MedEd

I’m wondering, who does postgraduate medical training well/ best? We’ve taken terminology from the US, but perhaps that’s all we want to take. Their costs, working conditions & in some cases pay for doctors in training are far from desirable for UK medics. Do we look to Oz, or continental Europe?

This is a vital review. We will be talking about it for years to come. There are some big decisions to be made about postgraduate medical training in the UK. It’s important we don’t view training in isolation though, what happens before & after is also vital. www.england.nhs.uk/postgraduate...

We desperately need a realistic workforce planning strategy, with attempts made to forecast the number of consultants needed, so the bottle neck isn't just moved to post-CCT. More NTNs are absolutely required and it is essential that this is done properly for a world-leading health service.

Recovering from the most recent family viral lurgy and I have realised that yesterday’s crushing tension headache probably wasn’t flu, it might just have been the lack of coffee for 36 hours 😅

Air pollution is a significant threat to child health, yet many healthcare professionals feel unprepared to address its impact. RCPCH has launched the Air Pollution Companion, offering essential resources for professionals & the wider community. Explore & share: www.rcpch.ac.uk/key-topics/a...

“It is a national scandal that over 600,000 children are stuck in limbo on a list, waiting to receive treatment.” The 18-week target is being missed more than 40% of the time for children’s services. Our response to latest NHSE data: www.rcpch.ac.uk/news-events/...

I’ve had the joy of listening to this podcast hosted by @maxdavie.bsky.social I meet a lot of young people with #TouretteSyndrome in my clinic & I’m struck by how you could replace “ADHD” in this with “Tourette’s” & the whole thing would still make perfect sense. zencastr.com/z/vKCARygL

In children a procalcitonin (PCT) guided algorithm didn't reduce iv antibiotic duration treatment & is non-inferior to usual care. ⚠️ Evidence doesn't support use of PCT algorithms where effective paediatric antibiotic stewardship programmes are established ⚠️ www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

And here is where I stop for today.

The Future Minds Report is an evidence-based analysis of the need for investment in children & young people's mental health services. By investing in mental health research & services, we can unlock a brighter future for young people & society as a whole. www.mqmentalhealth.org/mental-healt...
