Happy to share our review on methodology for measuring and manipulating mechanical forces with specific focus on developmental biology! Congrats to authors @clemvilleneuve.bsky.social @mccreery.bsky.social and hats off to the community for developing awesome tools www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Hey folks! I got a tattoo of my beloved PIEZO ion channel on my arm! Now I can show how they activate (flatten) under pressure by flexing—Will add a bit of performance art to my science talks 🧪🧠.

Today on #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience, I’m reflecting on where I’m at. Pausing and slowing things down to raise a family takes its toll on an academic career in so many invisible ways, but it pushes me to work harder. This little babe (me!) knows it’s worth it.

Really enjoyed this session put together by @themeshwork.bsky.social. Always good to hear about the latest research and meet new people in the mechano field!

🔔📢 Next event is fast approaching, so here is the complete program for next week's "Advances in Mechanobiology" session. @drsarahboyle.bsky.social @carstenschulte4.bsky.social @mathildemathieu.bsky.social Moderator: @ccstorytime.bsky.social Info: themeshwork2020.wixsite.com/info/up-comi...

Looking forward to being a part of this @themeshwork.bsky.social session dedicated to Mechanobiology! ⚙️🧬6 Feb, 9:30pm ACDT.

What are lumens and how do forces control tissue form and fate through lumen size? Join me, @dhirajindana.bsky.social, in this short thread to explore this question through some fascinating papers.

Extremely happy for our team led by @tmem-samuel.bsky.social to have secured an NHMRC Ideas Grant, investigating how distinct ECM structures can influence cancer growth and metastasis. But, more support needed for EMCR apps to foster next gen of emerging leaders. www.unisa.edu.au/media-centre...

Great news, Carsten! 👉The #6thISMB in #Glasgow will unite #mechanobiology communities from Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the US, integrating basic research, medicine, and industry support. CeMi @theglasgowCeMi.bsky.social and UofG @uofglasgow.bsky.social are excited and prepared for a large turnout!

If your #NHMRC ideas grant was unsuccessful and you have a story to share about the impact of this on your #biomedicalresearch, career, team - get in touch. Federal DOH have asked #NARF to collect stories of impact of low funding. #SaveOzScience #DiscoveriesNeedDollars #EMCRs
