Spike protein-triggers mast cell (MC) degranulation in brain microvascular endothelial cells and microglia cells. Mast cell (MC) activation triggered by SARS-CoV-2 causes inflammation in brain microvascular endothelial cells and microglia (2024) frontiersin.org/articles/10....

Chronic inflammation, neuroglial dysfunction, and plasmalogen deficiency as a new pathobiological hypothesis addressing the overlap between post-COVID-19 symptoms and ME/CFS www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... prodrome.com/en-ca/pages/... 25% off code: DrT25

Very significant problems found with study that purported to show low serotonin in #Longcovid and recommended SSRIs. doi.org/10.2147/JIR....

Sending hugs to all those that are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

In the beginning we feel disbelief and reject illness (we are NOT sick, it cant be this bad)...at some point we enter acceptance (we ARE sick, we realize life has changed)...this triggers a period of grief and mourning (giving in, giving up, adapting to the new reality). 1/3

Many pathogens set off a chain of events that lead to the destruction of connective tissue. It may be why many people with #MECFS #LongCovid start having cervical cranial instability (CCI) issues even when they didn't before. 1/2

www.healthrising.org/blog/2023/11... "The authors went to great lengths to make it clear that the placebo response could not have been involved. They stated that all three of the patients “had already come to terms that their respective diseases were likely untreatable and permanent conditions”1/n

This is why rapid scaling for treatment for #MECFS #Longcovid is so important. Even if the treatments are just 'baseline increases' or small shifts. Early high costs need to be brought down as quickly as possible. Treatment without accessibility is not going to cut it.

Post-Vaccination Syndrome: A Descriptive Analysis of Reported Symptoms and Patient Experiences After Covid-19 Immunization "The five most common symptoms were exercise intolerance (71%), excessive fatigue (69%), numbness (63%), brain fog (63%), and neuropathy (63%)." www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1...

One of my favorite made-up terms is 'robbinhooding'. The idea is that people who 'have' want to help people who 'dont have' but its hard to figure out how to actually help. 1/2

Mitophagy in human health, ageing and disease "Mitophagy removes and recycles damaged mitochondria and regulates the biogenesis of new, fully functional ones preserving healthy mitochondrial functions and activities."

Even if you are getting enough Magnesium from your diet and from oral supplements you might not be absorbing it properly. After a number of low Mg blood tests (and constant supplementation) I have switch to transdermal Mg.

"Mycotoxins have been shown to damage the blood-brain barrier, allowing other substances to cross into the central nervous system. One mycotoxin crossed the BBB over 300% faster than the study controls and reached the permeability of morphine, a BBB-permeable drug. 1/2

I am not a #Lyme expert but I am intrigued about the overlap use of methylene blue (MB) in #Lyme and its potential usefulness in #MECFS #LongCovid - for mitochondrial dysfunction. I personally use MB from @troscriptions. #NotanAD drtoddmaderis.com/methylene-bl...

Dr. Goodenowe is hosting a LIVE webinar titled "Unlocking the Power of Plasmalogens” which will provide valuable insights into how the powerful nutrient plasmalogen can help support brain health. Date: Wednesday, December 6 Time: 5pm PST, 8 pm EST Platform: Zoom us02web.zoom.us/webinar/regi...

New MCAS (mast cell) paper by Dr. Theo (Theoharides, the mastcellmaster.com). "Mast cells in the autonomic nervous system and potential role in disorders with dysautonomia and neuroinflammation"

Getting mast cells under control is a key part of stabilizing the autonomic nervous system (ANS). MCAS treatment is not just about 'allergy' it affects sleep, heart and cardiovascular system, BBB and brain, anxiety and stress, brain inflammation etc. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I have been in the 'recovery' stage following @remissionbiome.bsky.social since March. Due to a number of major 'blocks' such as mold and toxoplasmosis I have had to do additional treatments. I am on the upswing finally after moving house 3 months ago and starting detox. 1/2

Your gut microbiome is a key part of your immune system. In the @remissionbiome.bsky.social protocol the first step to modulating systems-wide dysfunction is 'digestive system health'. Gut-brain axis health lays the foundation for the 'architecture of recovery'. www.frontiersin.org/articles/10....

Major review of CoQ10 and #fibromyalgia #MECFS #LongCovid "RCTs have reported significant symptomatic benefit in the treatment of these disorders, particularly for FM (FM = #fibromyalgia)". Data for #MECFS #LongCovid also positive but more studies needed to confirm.

We are also seeing this in #LongCovid patients. Autoantibodies to MBP and other markers of neurodegeneration are common in our patient population unfortunately. @CyrexLabs Alzheimers link panel is like a 'gut-brain axis' panel and their 7x Neurological panel is also worth a look.

Autoantibodies against myelin basic protein (MBP) are showing up in our results as well and I have been taking Clemastine when I can get it. ProdromeNeuro targets myelin as well. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

This is a incredibly key lecture to watch. #MECFS #LongCovid The @remissionbiome.bsky.social protocol would not exist (at least in the form it is in) if it were not for the paradigm-shifting ideas of Robert Naviaux. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG5e...

Its like our bodies are operating on only a tiny fraction of the energy of 'healthy peeps' and that we run out of energy faster and cant re-fill the tank as fast. But why? How #LongCovid and #MECFS exhaust the body. www.healthrising.org/blog/2022/02...

When I was a PhD grad student I did field work in Jamaica (where I ended up getting Dengue and started the #MECFS rollercoaster). I was working on tropical rock pools (rain filled depressions in the limestone) which dried out constantly yet bounced back with life super fast. 🧵 1/6

This rapamycin trial is really worth a look. @RedefiningMECFS

Modern medicine is based on a pathology model. To heal chronic illness we need a new paradigm based on the science of healing and recovery. www.news-medical.net/news/2023051...

Did you know? That I (DrT) went to law school? I was one of the youngest people to start law school in Canada in my year (1992). I was 20. I didnt get my law degree as I fell in love with scuba diving and went off to become a marine biologist and diving instructor.
