I hear people refer to Social Security as "people looking for a handout". Look at your paystub, find the word "FICA". This is not tax. It's what you have been paying into Social Security, and when you retire, you have made around 1200 payments. Calling it a handout is gaslighting. #socialsecurity

I keep hearing how the government should be run like a company. I think it is debatable, but for the sake of the argument, let’s say it is. The problem with people like Elon Musk is they think of the citizens as being employees. They aren’t. They are the shareholders. #DOGE #MAGA

Please help me understand how asking Vetrans who risked their lives in service to their country should be among the first to be asked sacrifice more by losing vital services so that a few may receive a small tax cut? Explain it to me like I am five. #DOGE #maga

Happy Valentine’s Day to my lovely wife Lynne (@norcalselkie.bsky.social). Why buy flowers when you can spend two days printing them with your 3D printer. ❤️

Just heard from a friend at the Veteran’s Administration that everybody there that was not a protected employee (I.e. anyone who has not worked at the VA for more than two years) was let go. I’m surprised to see that cutting government waste includes taking care of veterans.

Messing with scammers (moving these posts to Bluesky, so I will start over at #1).

I find it ironic that our tax records were stolen by an administration led by a person who notoriously refused to release his tax records. #elonmusk #trump

I guess, when I think "what qualities do I value the most in my leadership", pettiness probably ranks 1 or 2. As Jesus once said, "if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, revoke their security clearance" www.bbc.com/news/article...

In 2020, as the pandemic at its height, we exercised "social distancing" to keep ourselves healthy. Now, in 2025, I think I am going to have to exercise "social media distancing" to keep myself mentally healthy. I have to distance from people and groups that are unhealthy for my mental wellbeing.
