The saddest part about Crunch culture in Game dev is that is kinda built into people getting into the field via GameJams. The IDEA of a Gamejam is cool and fun, and I honestly believe some higher up corpo types don't understand why that sprint crunch process cant transfer to the day job.

If I ever made a CRPG, I'd include a trait called 'Engulfing Silence' that requires either a very high or very low charisma stat and unlocks "..." as a dialog choice to pretty much every chat. It would be largely pointless, with most of the reactions being people spooked by you staring at them.

If I had the time/budget, I'd make a halflife mod called 'Prexisting Conditions' centered around an outbreak at the BMRF a few months before the cascade, just to explain why the facility needed many armed guards. Maybe have some clues/hints of the combine being a thing they're sorta aware of.
