Really enjoying the stories about congressmen getting yelled at about DOGE shit in their town halls. Not because I feel like it's necessarily going to move things in the right direction in the next election cycle or two, really. I just like stories about congressmen getting yelled at I think.

How better to start the weekend than with some colourful, unabashed joy? Here's just a small selection of the Ophrys bee #orchids we'll be sharing with our guests on our popular Orchids of Rhodes tour in just a few weeks time.

Just wanted to thank @gardenrev.bsky.social for reaching out about doing this Q&A about our project. Check it out to learn a bit about what makes the project tick: gardenrev.com/blog/avocado...

This is a five-alarm fire! Musk is destroying much of what makes us strong: trust, clean air & water, health & science, transportation & food safety, and much more. Join us on SATURDAY at 10am at U Village! #TeslaTakedown

I’ll be here!!! Join us!!!

Forest Service and other federal employees joined a crowed of 400 at the Wenatchee rally yesterday. Local 34 was representing!

Today I received news that DOGE has terminated funding for black farmers and councils in my mid-sized city. This means no farmers market, no neighborhood leadership for urban black communities. 😳

Seattle protest going hard

At the protest in Seattle today at the Federal Building. Lots and lots and LOTS of people!

2,000 to 3,000 people gathered outside the Federal Building in Seattle today to protest the Trump-Elon administration and its mass firing of civil servants, its attempts to undo civil rights protections for workers and its attacks on immigrants, trans people and people of color.

Seattle came out today! #saveourservices #protest #fiftyfiftyone #50501

Seattle protest today in support of federal workers. I cried when I saw how many people were there because I was so relieved that folks are finally in the streets.

Just as it did during the rise of the Nazis a century ago, the New York Times is twisting itself in knots to avoid calling fascists fascists. Germany’s AfD is not a “party that downplays Nazis.” It’s a neo-Nazi party.

Elon Musk paid less for the United States government than he did for Twitter. Remarkable how low the bidding was.

the discourse on whether the economy is actually good or bad is ridiculous to me bc even if you showed me a graph that somehow conclusively proved the economy was Good i could still walk through my city and see people living in tents on the side of the road and in every public park

Furious at Musk and his minions for their lawlessness & destruction? Join us at Tesla Seattle TOMORROW. Tesla is Elon's cash machine, and his main source of power. The stakes couldn’t be higher. No one else is coming to fix this. #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #MuskOut

This reads like the opening paragraph of a novel so bleakly dystopian you'd put it down after five pages

🧵 THREAD: In the second Trump administration, we’re devoting a significant part of our staff to detailing dramatic changes in the role of the federal government in the lives of Americans. Here are some of the issues we’re watching — and how you can inform our work.

🌱🌿 I know everything is terrible but Washingtonians have a chance to get this plant on the noxious weeds list. It is long overdue
