Today in 1948, before a sell-out crowd at Chicago Stadium, the Harlem Globetrotters faced the Lakers, a top team in what would become the NBA. The Globetrotters won 61-59 at the buzzer. A key moment in the racial integration of pro basketball. Happy Black History Month! 🏀

Some of my favorite moments growing up were spending entire midsummer afternoons floating lazily on our lake in northern Wisconsin, listening to Bob Uecker call Brewers games on the radio. He was a great one 😢

It’s been a trying week here in LA, full of heartache and worry. So when I witnessed her co-workers at the tacqueria present the tortillera with flowers and a birthday cake, singing happy birthday, I lit up inside, grateful to be present for this random beautiful moment. ¡Felicidades!

Happy 100th birthday Hal Friedman, newest member of the French Légion d’Honneur. Hal served in the US Army in World War II as a tank commander; he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also one of the liberators of Mauthausen concentration camp. A true hero
