My daughters desire to listen to songs on repeat has finally paid off. We’ve got Chip N Dale Theme sign

Just pulled a quarter sized brown spider off my ear after having been in the Crawlspace this afternoon. Very excited to have an extreme startle response to even the slightest tingling sensation for the next forever.

I remember renting the VHS tapes of these from the grocery store and watching them in my neighbor Brett’s living room while going hog wild on ritz crackers piled high w/ cheez-whiz. Might have to get a can and stream a couple when Tracy’s out of town in a few weeks.

I cannot stress enough that libraries need to be defended. Public. Academic. School. Fight for them. USE them & make it known that you're using them. As a librarian who lost the fight at their institution & was forced to toss 120,000 books because "no one reads books anymore," I am begging you.

Yippee ki-yay, Mister Falcon

Students' thoughts on campus speech. Turns out, very few say faculty are the problem. Students also say campus speech is more problematic at other places than their own campus. www.insidehighered.com/news/student...

Merry #fishmas and…

Told my wife I planned to play a #solo #boardgame while she was out for 🍷 w/ a friend wife: what game ya gonna play, cool guy Me: Xia, Legends of a Drift System! wife: I take back the “cool guy…” alt-text on the pics gives a lil taste of just how wrong my wife is. #faroffgames #boardgames

I feel a strange sensation. One I haven’t felt for many, many years. I believe it’s called excitement for a Superman movie. James Gunn really knows how to kick you in the nostalgia.

Thunder Road Vendetta from @restorationgames.bsky.social continues to deliver. We played w/ the new Carnival of Chaos expansion tonight. It’s incredible how much this expansion changes the feel. Much more aggressive and surprisingly more deliberative than the base game ruleset. #boardgame

“The human prefrontal cortex alone contains enough neuronal hardware to run 5000 [fruit]flies.” Meanwhile mine can’t even keep me from shitposting on Bluesky after a couple of beers. Cool paper from @mameister4.bsky.social authors.elsevier.com/a/1kHVa3BtfH...

It’s “risk your life to maintain your property” season! How do you choose to celebrate? I for one like to climb a tall ladder with a pair of loppers to trim an overgrown pink Magnolia tee.

I’m gonna do a thread of my favorite podcasts that are now on Bluesky so you can all follow them and hopefully give them a try! *NOTE: My taste in podcasts is typically “brain rot comedy” so if any of these are for some reason deeply thoughtful or mind-expanding, I’ll be sure to make a note of that

As of this weekend, this Geeklist broke 900 games. And I bet there are some newer ones missing. Can you think of any that should be on here? (To check if something is already there, click the "901 items" button under the description and it will pull up the full list in searchable format.)
