I swear, little old ladies (as a whole) have not changed one bit since I was a kid in the 90s. It's like they make them in a factory somewhere and haven't changed the form factor in decades.

I don’t care if you’re a relative, a fantasy novelist, or an elected official, transphobia is manufactured outrage and transphobe are trash. None of America’s problems are cause by trans people. None. But a LOT are caused by bigots.

Ok, we all know the "Canada should become part of the US" thing is pretty fucking stupid. But, like, why are they talking about making *all* of Canada the 51st state? Wouldn't each province be integrated as its own state? I know, I know, stupid question. It just bugs me.

The millennial experience is growing up with the internet, and watching it go from a free, open, democratic, and eclectic ecosystem to a wasteland of five websites controlled by billionaires, and now seeing it quickly fill up with AI-generated slop. I want our World Wide Web back.

"don't be ashamed of your interests" is good advice, but you gotta understand most people have multiple distinct memories of expressing an interest and immediately being looked at like a very large insect

i've played like 10 hours of 2025 and it's a huge letdown. graphics aren't improved at all, same boring fetch quests, and they still refuse to implement any of the QoL changes everyone's been asking for

Just saw The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim in a theater. I liked it. Pretty good way to tell one of the stories from the appendices of the book. I do wish they had strayed from the live action depiction of Edoras, made it brighter with less of the stereotypical medieval-muddy coloring

Good morning! I just wrecked myself emotionally by finishing my second play-through of Neva!

sesame street isn't supposed to make money. the post office isn't supposed to make money. not everything is supposed to MAKE MONEY

I can feel the desire for a new tattoo growing in my heart.

Sometimes I think about how remarkable it is that just a few months ago I had pretty much accepted that Linkin Park would probably never return with new music. And yet here we are, mere weeks after they released an awesome new album. Incredible how things can turn around. #LinkinPark #FromZero

I'm unremarkable enough here that I only get occasional follows, so I can inspect each one. I've noticed that when I block a follower, my follower count doesn't go down. So it looks like 100 accounts have tried to follow me, but none of them passed my "is this a bot or scummy person" litmus test.

As I get older and get more and more aches and pains, I find myself increasingly disappointed that the water-bending from Avatar isn't real. That healing technique just looks so dang soothing.

I love videogames repost if you agree

YouTube giving me, a city apartment dweller, ads for chicken feed. Algo at its finest, lol

TIL that the Elf on the Shelf thing only started in 2005. From the "A Christmas Tradition" tagline and its mid-twentieth century feeling design I always figured it was something done in like the 50s or whatever that had seen a recent resurgence due to nostalgia marketing. Huh.

If you want to screw up your YouTube recs real good, just watch: *One tech video to answer one question you had *One clickbait video you couldn't resist clicking on *One miscellaneous video about something you were curious about Ask me how I know.

The Muppet Christmas Carol should be a reminder to all of us that you should live your life in such a way that the muppets won't sing a diss track about you every time you go for a walk about town.

The idea that those on the left will ever agree enough to be an “echo chamber” is rather funny to me. We couldn’t even agree whether to refer to Kamala Harris by her first or last name.

Don't you just love it when you go to a family member's birthday party and spend the whole time being self-conscious because of a GIANT FREAKING ZIT on the corner of your mouth?

PSA: As Bluesky gains popularity, more trolls and bad actors will arrive. The MOST effective way to deal with them and to help keep this space safe for your own mental health is to starve them of the only thing they crave: ATTENTION. Don't interact. Block/report and move on. 🥳

Every time I start to think about beginning a new run of Stardew Valley, I immediately get decision paralysis about which farm map to pick. I want the perks, but I hate the reduced farm-able land.

Wish they made thought cancelling headphones

*sees I got a bunch of notifications* "What the..." *remembers that I tagged a larger account in a post* "Oh, right, that's how social media works." To be fair, I haven't really posted anything on the bird site since that guy took over, so I'm out of practice with how any of this works.

I've listened to the new Linkin Park album four or five times already this morning. Love it! It's so awesome to have my favorite band back in action and making new music! #LinkinPark #FromZero

Me: *sees a Red Bull in the fridge* My Brain: "You know, I am feeling pretty sluggish right now. Maybe I should drink that..." Me: "What? No! We're about to go to bed!" My Brain: "Oh, right."

"World's First Trillionaire" has to be the point where we, as a society, finally draw the line and start eating these rich bastards for real... right?

Geez, I follow one person who is into sports, and suddenly my Discover tab is, like, 5-10% sports posts.

I went to an ice cream place I have a gift card for and order something. I know this card does not have enough on it to pay for the whole order. I hand them the gift card, they swipe it and hand it back to me. Odd, but I take it back out of habitual politeness. 1/3
