Yeah, I do what I can to support, but it is just... a lot. Make a few friends in these circles, and suddenly it's like "Hey, you've got a spare 40 hours a week to listen to or watch all of your friends' actual plays, right? Remember, if you fall behind even one episode, you will NEVER CATCH UP 😅"

Note: "Dethrone" isn't the same as being an "alternative." I do enjoy talking about how some games can take the place of other games, but only in a "hey, if you like [genre] but don't really get down with [most popular ttrpg in said genre], then this game might be be a good alternative."

No, I'm afraid I won't say what the script is, for professional reasons. Just know that it is part of a package deal with a client. It's work, and I'm fine with that. Clearly. Fine. Damn I've been in a mood lately. I don't think the headache is helping, either...

This is turning into a ramble. ANYWAY, I'm not trying to say this is the only way you should strive to put a group together for TTRPG purposes. Set up those regular TTRPG groups if you can, sure! But if you can get a group that casually meets at a regular time that only sometimes TTRPGs? Immaculate.

I will say, we've done less TTRPG gaming together in the last year, probably because the three of us that meet most consistently are in another regular game together. But still, I am positive if that game stopped, we would end up playing way more on Tuesdays again.

This has actually lead to us playing TTRPGs way more consistently that quite a few groups I've been a part of that plan to meet only to play TTRPGs, and if that isn't going to happen, "we'll just reschedule." It's honestly pretty wonderful.

I think it is a part of why we have stayed consistent, almost every week, for over 3 years. Sure, we don't always get to play. Frankly, we don't always want to. But every week we gather, some members coming infrequently, but when we want to play something, we just do.

You come in here with a obvious "Ok, BUT..." or use "Fantasy Heartbreaker" in a condescending, elitist way, and you risk getting an eye roll! Constructive conversations welcome, though I'm in a mood today, so I might be a brat. Who knows. You decide if it is worth risking my brattitude.

Lips. No no, don't imagine something cartoonish or silly. Real lips. Too real. Imagine that crab with full, slightly chapped human lips. Imagine hearing that wet, slightly sticky sound of them parting as it wets them...with a tongue. I've upset myself and maybe need a lie down...

The juxtaposition of seeing a package of more expensive pasta to be combined with some Ragu Veggie Tales wannabe sauce that is a color of red typically indicating danger in nature...I support you 100%. Do your food science. Play god! First testament style.

That is often my go to strategy as well. However this person did get a simple copy/paste of the quote from the book with a page number, and nothing more. If they want any further response, they are out of luck

It's frustrating, to say the least. Also, it would have been so easy for them to come at it from a place of curiosity and polite disagreement. "Hey, I'm not really sure I see the connection, as Grimwild is mechanically so different. Why the comparison to D&D?"
comment in response to post
Seriously, I get that the mechanics are different as can be (which I believe is made abundantly clear in my video), but to call my comparison "dishonest" really irks me. Also, please do NOT engage with or harass anyone who has made a comment like that! I just needed a space to vent a little.

Hell yeah! Love to hear it!

If you enjoy the more FitD-style games with fluid, descriptive actions, I cannot recommend Grimwild highly enough. Definitely my personal favorite, though not everyone's cup of tea.

It's really amazing how... let's go with clumsy the multiplayer is in World, especially considering how core multiplayer has been to the franchise. I'm glad Wilds (and to a decent degree Rise) is fixing that.

Yikes. Well, that was an extremely easy unfollow then block. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm genuinely baffled every time I've seen a post in the last year saying anything like "I can't believe X/Twitter is doing ____!" I can't believe anyone is still surprised.

I do want to clarify, that I'm not saying Magpie Games or their products should be shunned. I'm just saying the whole thing with Urban Shadows 2e was a real mess of a situation, and I can't blame anyone who was turned off from them because of it.

<3 Weeeeell, I suppose I'll allow it, but also...
