Create. Create when you have a good idea. You'll regret it if you don't. Create when you have a silly idea. If it makes you happy, that is reason enough. Create when you have a bad idea. You don't have to share it, but you can certainly learn from it. Just create.

Oh right.. Yeah it's my birthday. Buy my games? cobblepath-games.itch.io

Judging the value/success of a TTRPG based on how well it will sell or even "dethrone" an existing TTRPG in the same genre is boring. It is, in fact, basic. Judging it based on what you find fun about it, and what interesting things the creator(s) try to accomplish with it...now I'm listening.

Been up since 4am because my hip hurt and now I have a big ol' headache. A real bastard of a brain-banger. On the upside, I have to record an hour long script that I would normally just dislike, but with this skull-thumper of a headache it has elevated to AM levels of h̷̛̘a̸̟͘t̸̘̂e̷̬͛.

I love that my weekly Tuesday session with a few of my close friends is only playing TTRPGs maybe 30% of the time, 30% playing video games, 30% just hanging out, and that last 10% consists of wild brainstorming sessions. Playing TTRPGs is less an expectation and more just a distinct possibility.

Dumping giant backgrounds and expecting the GM to wrangle 4-6 main characters so all of them are tied directly into what’s going on is absurd. Building together at the table is much better.

Hey, friends! Seeking artists who do TTRPG character pieces (not using the -ission word, I don’t know how bots operate in bluer skies). haha If you fit the bill, please sound off! I’m not in immediate need of something, but trying to find folks and their rates so I know what to save / who to follow.

Tabletop Humans Episode Two featuring @thecandacemarie.bsky.social premieres in just 30 minutes! Candace and I chat about cosplaying, queerness, TTRPGs, and they give the good morning of the day! Watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV_2...

What's that? TTRPG-A does a thing that TTRPG-B already kinda does, and you prefer B? Because of that you believe A is bad and pointless? I mean, great point, why have games that fill different niches and alternative preferences when there are already games that suit YOUR preferences?

If you’re teaching someone an rpg and hand them a book and say, “Read this.” Well….that’s 1 reason they’re not picking it up “Check out the Loresheets that look cool to you” Legends of the Wulin. “Look at the playbooks. see what seems cool.” pbta. “Check out the Avatars and Adepts” Unknown Armies

oh hey babes WE DROPPED OUR DEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was called "dishonest" in a comment for daring to compare Grimwild to D&D, because is apparently has NOTHING to do with D&D. I wonder what Grimwild has to say about that...

Wanna hear me ramble about two games that are unabashedly taking notes from D&D while also unabashedly taking it in two very different directions? One fast and tactical. One narrative and fluid. Both a delight! youtu.be/8TFd1SHrRnM

🎲✂️ Just a PSA: This is a grifter that follows & unfollows anyone vaguely into board games to fish for followbacks. He's been known to start harassment campaigns against people in the industry for spurious reasons. Rodney Smith from Watch It Played even posted an old video about him on Twitter.

I'm really appreciating the depth Urban Shadows 2e goes to not only explain its moves, but each of the options within a move. I feel like I've seen a few PbtA games where those things aren't well defined (at least not in the part of the book) and it can be confusing for newer players. Solid work

So I was in the mood to make some delicious homemade grinders for dinner, but had no sub rolls. So instead of taking a 10 minute trip to the store, I just made em. But in a spiteful way. Like, they finished, looked great, and I went "Eat shit, the store." That's where I'm at.

#ShadowlightAndPersonaeRPG There's still room and time to get on board! See the CATS here: craig-hatler-games.beehiiv.com/p/s-and-p-an...

Have I dunked on Magpie many times for the handling of Urban Shadows 2e? Yes. Is missing your Kickstarter release date by 3 years worthy of a little criticism? Yes. Did I still fork over the cash to get the physical book and pdf asap? ...yes...

Dr. Frankenstein connects the probes to the stitched-together corpse on his table and throws the switch. He laughs as sparky fly, and a moment later looks at the now burnt, still unmoving corpse. "Oh no! My creation...is dead!"

Your outie has more TTRPGs they’ll ever be able to play.

Starting up a bunch of studios, buying more, and having little to no strategy other than “games are money tho” has put too many developers at risk for things like this. More dollars than fucking sense every single time and who pays the actual price? Developers.

Judge me if you want, this movie is a masterpiece (maybe not in *every* regard, but I still love it).

Once again reminding consumers that you have the power to aid Creatives in the fight against corporate nonsense if you actually stand in solidarity with them and not wait till teams get laid off.

I really can't recommend checking out Writer's Block enough. Red is an incredible talent, and frankly just a rad as hell person.

Hey! It’s my birthday and I have but one request: I’d really love it if you headed on over to the Writer’s Block channel and dropped us a sub! We’ll be live tomorrow at 2pm CST with more worldbuilding. Thank you peeps 💙 youtube.com/@writersbloc...

Problems in listening is why I don’t like playing GMless games with people who weren’t improvisors or at least GMs. You learn to actively listen in improv in a way you do nowhere else. Even on stage in a scripted show, I’d rather look into the eyes of an improvisor because they’re there with me.

Bringing this back up

Can I go one week without seeing Americans and Brits arguing about pronunciation or differing terms for stuff!? We are different cultures with different dialects and different influences. That's it! I will block anyone who replies with anything like "Yeah, but it drives me nuts when they say __."

Hey y’all. It’s really hard to ask, but I could use some support. I’m having a family medical emergency and would really appreciate it the help. ko-fi.com/candacethema...
