So many writers and artists tackle this subject. Here's one 👇🏾

I've been thinking a lot about Black people relationships with nature. I recently watched a documentary about a race massacre that happened in NC. Black people were murdered and banished from a town by white supremacists. They fled through the forests, swamps...

Really want to know more about the man on the left. The photo was made just a few years after President Woodrow Wilson, an ardent white supremacist, segregated the federal workforce.

Mahmoud said free them all

This!! This is something we must keep in mind.

No one is in danger from undocumented immigrants. EVERYONE is endangered by the fascist Right in this country and that means the GOP.

Heartbreaking 💔. My condolences to the family.

Okay, let me put joy on your timeline. So, this is a picture of the young man I photographed 5 years ago. He is standing in front of the photo I made of him. My artwork is a part of a public art project I did with Oonee. Oonee is a company that provides secure parking for people who use bikes, etc..

The new Grove PATH @ooneepod secure bike parking facility is coming along nicely, just outside the south PATH entrance/exit stairs. And is that more of the great work of Jersey City photographer Duquann Sweeney we see on its side, from his “We Outside” project?

I hate this photo.

The great African American photographer Beuford Smith joined the ancestors on June 7th. Examples of his work — poetic, passionate, political — are in major museums across the country. This video from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a good introduction. m.youtube.com/watch?v=iWTJ...

ICE crossed a line in LA

This line! "I'll kill him and hide his body under my desk" I love Wanda Coleman's poetry.

Today is #WorldBicycleDay 🚲 Did you know❓ Cycle lanes count for just 0.2% of the current road infrastructure. It’s time to demand safer streets that put the health & safety of pedestrians and cyclists first 👉bit.ly/4jPzXsa

New Jersey's primary election is next Tuesday, June 10. Go vote.

Moment of Joy 😄 "That's my photo right there!" @bikejc.org Ward Tour. ~We Outside~ Oonee Pod, Public Art.

I went to see Jack Whitten's exhibition at the MOMA. It's absolutely amazing. I took a few pictures of the artwork, but honestly, the pictures are incapable of showing the magnitude and soul of the artwork.

A great show-and-tell and discussion of small photo books, featuring Jason Fulford, Kris Graves, and Carmen Winant. I like tiny things, and I want to teach a class about miniatures of all sorts :)

BikeJC Ward Tour Training.

Well my hospital art show really snuck up on me- but I got it together and had enough work to exhibit, so we'll call it a win. Nothing new on display, but it feels good to see these up!

Early this morning, we began installation of the long awaited Oonee at Grove Street Plaza in Jersey City. The station will provide free secure parking for 24 bikes at a time and will be directly adjacent to a PATH train exit. @bikejc.org @brooklynspoke.bsky.social @bikenewyork.bsky.social

It seems like every day that I wake up and I open this app. I see breaking news of "Israel strikes killed x amount of people in Gaza" Then I get myself ready for the day in a place where I pay too much for rent. And wonder when the genocide will end.

Hope. 🌈

Bill Cosby and Wesley Lowery come from the same tree.

This is a heavy read about Wesley Lowery. And I just want to say monsters walk the earth.

BREAKING: Israeli strikes across Gaza kill at least 75 Palestinians, hospitals say, as Israel intensifies its offensive to ramp up pressure on Hamas.

An explosion outside a California fertility clinic injured at least five people and a suspect is believed to be dead, ABC reports

Damn! This is a great opening line. 👇🏾 "When is the NYPD going to learn the law?"

I won't be surprised if the plantation gets restored.

Y'all keep electing disgusting old white men.

Donald Trump has welcomed white "refugees" from South Africa, claiming they face "genocide" as the country tries to address the ongoing legacy of apartheid. "This accusation of white genocide emanating from the White House is a conspiracy theory and a myth," says writer Andile Zulu.
