The solar module tiering team wishes it to be known that the BNEF tier 1 criteria have been updated. The main change is that from 2Q 2025, only solar projects over 10MW are relevant to tiering. They are not seeking feedback on this change. assets.bnef.com/public/tieri...

Shaun Pollock 🤝 Steven Kitshoff. Giving us red heads the street cred we desperately need 😅 Who will take over the role now that Kitsie is retiring?

To help the farming economy of South Africa right now, the focus must remain on improving rural roads, rail, port efficiency, functioning of the municipalities, and various reforms at the Department of Agriculture. The sector has great potential and is hobbled by these issues.

In what feels like a big deal, I am appearing before the national energy regulator of SA's Electricity Subcommittee on behalf of the South African Solar PV industry ☀️🇿🇦 The national utility has proposed significant tariff structure changes that impact Solar PV generators and customers.

NEW | In 2024, solar power overtook coal for the first time! ☀️ As the US is doubting its own clean energy credentials, the EU is all in and it shows. Today we @ember-energy.org published our annual European Electricity Review. A thread on the most important developments...

NEW | Solar generates more EU electricity than coal for the first time in 2024 🇪🇺☀️ Renewables made up nearly HALF of the electricity mix last year, while fossil power fell to a historic low ⚡ ember-energy.org/lat...

Some #SA20 🏏 content: Being from Pretoria it's difficult to see the Capitals performing so poorly this season. I guess I've been spoilt watching the Titans practically dominate domestic cricket since I can remember. I'll be Supporting SEC for the rest of the season. The nation's second team 🟠

Excited to teach my Distributed Energy Resources class for the 2nd time this semester. I created it last year. I'll put all the lecture slides/videos, homework & read/listen/watch assignments, starter code, etc. on my website: kevinjkircher.com/distributed-... First lecture video here:

I'm doing a webinar from 10-11:30am European time tomorrow (Wednesday 22 January) with TaiyangNews, Sonia Dunlop of the Global Solar Council, and Henning Schulze of JA Solar, on the global solar market outlook. Register here for free if you want to join! taiyangnews.info/our-events/t...

More 🇬🇧 EVs to provide grid services: EDF and Hypervolt enable frequency response service from home chargers. Stackable with additional savings from an EDF smart EV tariff.

What’s the most important subject we learn in school? For climate, it might be thermodynamics. It’s needed to understand climate change, to understand how a heat pump works, to understand why stopping CO₂ emissions is easier than doing CO₂ removal (CDR), etc.

We say it every time there's a great Test, but in a world of instant gratification & where substance takes a back seat to sensation, how great is it to still have at least one sport which twists, turns, unfolds gradually & is as gloriously unpredictable as Test cricket! #AUSvIND

Brilliant Sunday morning reading on @quantamagazine.bsky.social giving a new perspective on entropy. For mechanical engineers seeing the interpretation of the 2nd law and entropy in other fields, like information science, is fascinating. I really enjoyed the interactive parts of the article!
