Very cool books to have, from a period of #Paleostream history before I joined the server or tuned into the livestreams.

Tonight’s flocking-together #Paleostream sketches: a very flat and frog-like Eryops, two Plateosaurus bulls battling, an injured Mahuidacursor being inspected by a Patagopteryx, and a Koreaceratos getting close to the ground. #paleoart #dinosaurs #temnospondyl #sciart

Cuvieronius and Eremotherium, giants of the pleistocene #sciart #paleoart

Second #NearbyNature2025 post for the year, the Brown-headed Nuthatch. This little bird is a frequent visitor at manmade feeders, but can also be seen climbing up and down trees in search of insects. They have quite high-pitched calls, and are nearly as small as chickadees. #nature #wildlife #sciart

I am still working on this, but month-specific art (and pesky schoolwork) means it may be a little while before it’s done and colored. Yes those are Tigers. #holocene #wildlife #sturgeon

Belated Valentine’s Day art gift for @seismic-shrimp.bsky.social, the two of us together in a much better place (at the Strait of Gibraltar a little more than 5 million years ago, watching the Mediterranean catastrophically fill up). #paleoart #happyvalentinesday

Welcome to #Marchofthemammals2025 ! In another entry to my yearly mammal paleoart challenge, we will be exploring fossil formations around the world and the mammals that resided there! There's even a giveaway at the end! Check the alt text and my Instagram for more information!

At first glance, a quintessentially beautiful Irish landscape. But in reality, it's a deadzone. The graveyard of a once species-rich Atlantic rainforest wonderland, smothered under sheep and, in the distance, sitka. We are, however, waking to just how much has been stolen from us.

Tonight’s flocking #paleostream sketches: two male Megarachne in a shoving match, a shadowy Diictodon, a yawning Revueltosaurus, and some Charnia just standing there. #paleoart #paleozoic #triassic #sciart

Since algorithms across various social media platforms are making it harder to see what you enjoy, here's a thread of #paleoart I think is underrated or a tad overlooked. Kicking things off with Sam Milkovits' azhdarchid portrait

I’ve had an idea for a little while, to make small sketches like the Losodokodon doodle in a simple informative thread on obscure Cenozoic animals, once a week. Would y’all like to see something like that, and if so, what day?

Quick little birthday doodle: the wonderfully named Losodokodon losodokius. Among the earliest of the Mastodons (family Mammutidae), this animal is only known from a few teeth found in Late Oligocene deposits of Northwestern Kenya. I based its appearance on other early Mammutids. #paleoart #elephant

Been a bit busy but these have been done for a bit: Belantsea, Dianmeisaurus, Obruchevodus, and Orientalosuchus #paleoart #sciart

Anyone know of some good alternatives to this place? Anyone up for *making* a suitable alternative? Because I will collect all I digitally own and take it elsewhere if Aaron doesn't take this back ASAP.

New big update on the Agate Kickstarter page concerning release for the first episode, reveals of some more of the backer animals, and more! Hope everybody enjoys it www.kickstarter.com/projects/max...

Hello, internet! Things are bad for our trans & queer friends in the US, so I teamed up with bsky's nature artists to create this pack containing 80 wallpapers and growing. 1. Donate to one of the two orgs below 2. DM me your receipt 3. I'll give you a download link Valid til the end of the month

1/n Please see our new paper in Nature Communications! We used 1,851 tree-ring fire-scar sites and contemporary fire perimeters to quantify the prevalence of wildfire from 1600-1880 compared to 1984-2022. 🧪🌍🔥 Our key findings are as follows ...

Very rough doodle while on a trip two days ago, for the start of this Year of the Snake. In the pine savannas of southern Alabama 10,000 years ago, a Tremarctos floridana walks past an Eastern Indigo Snake swallowing a large Rattlesnake, as they still do today. #paleoart #pleistocene #snake #alabama

Rough study of an intersex Mallard, based on a photo by redditor u/Pugsterpal. 🎨🪶 #SciArt #BirdArt

When the White Clover is actually green and purple: #botany #plants #clover

Yeah, this is really shaping up into something I like. 🏺🧪

#ShiftingBaselines and the forgotten giants: integrating megafauna into plant community ecology🦣🌿 With #megafauna lost, have we built #ecology on already-degraded ecosystems? Led @skjoldsoendergaard.bsky.social as part of his thesis - well done! doi.org/10.1111/oik.... #theory #rewilding #vegetation
