Black metal really needs to do more climate action work because they’re going to run out of snowy forests and fjords to film their music videos in if the planet keeps warming

The publishing industry says “Hi”

The Birthday Massacre have a high proportion of great tracks across their catalogue, but Pins and Needles possibly has the most? Love that album

Anyone else remember when Imgur was about silly memes and not endless self-pitying posts?

Best thing about seeing Riverside live is watching the keyboardist, Michał, having an absolute blast. youtu.be/W9S4OjXtr-g?...

If Tool’s Lateralus album got redone with the production of Fear Inoculum, that would be just the best. I LOVE Lateralus but the album just sounds a bit flat, especially the guitars.

That moment of “Oh FFS” when you message someone on WhatsApp and you see “… is recording a voice message”

Latest obsession, Cold Waves Divide Us by Midas Fall. Incredible, ethereal blend of post rock and electronica. Can’t recommend enough.

It’s funny (I mean frustrating…) how reductionist people can be about the mind / brain / body as if it’s profound. E.g. I remember once an incredibly intelligent acquaintance at uni saying “If you really think about it, humans are just tubes” and … just … come on

Genuinely struggling to think of my favourite album of 2024. Not convinced it was a good year for metal. There’s been some good releases, but nothing that has blown me away and made me obsess over it for longer than the month it came out in. Biggest disappointment of 2024 was Zeal and Ardor’s.

When a piece of packaging says “Don’t recycle at home, recycle at supermarket”

Finally!! After years of trying to remember the band name, it came back to me! Mea Culpa - First To Ripen, a 2007 post metal album that completely flew under the radar, but well worth a listen if ISIS, Cult of Luna, or Neurosis is your thing

I have several questions

FarCry games would be immeasurably better if I could carry more guns. I don’t get why you’d create a big sandbox game and encourage chaotic gameplay and then severely limit my ability to switch between all the weapons I’ve been acquiring

i can tell it’s a quirky twitter joke because it’s all typed in lower case

Stoner and psychedelic rock has some of the coolest riffs; if only the vocals didn’t usually suck I’d be listening to it a lot more

Definitely not a metaphor for how business is going in the UK, but account creation for the government website for companies needing export information (great.gov.uk) is broken.

I REALLY need Absent In Body to make some more music. It shouldn’t be legal to make something as good as Plague God and then go silent.

Train hasn’t left the station yet and some of the lights are flickering. So this train definitely isn’t about to be cancelled. Again.

Playing Anaal Nathrakh, songs like “Castigation and Betrayal”, and then trying to explain to someone why you like it is, admittedly, taxing. “I apparently enjoy someone wailing incomprehensibly like they’ve stepped on demonic Lego bricks whilst musicians try to destroy their instruments”

Still getting hard crashes as soon as I try to do anything on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Xbox. At least you could actually play Cyberpunk…

To celebrate #PlayStation's 30th anniversary, post four of your most beloved PS1 games! #PlayStation30thAnniversary

My top artists of 2024 according to Tidal. One of these is not like the others 😁

One of the best albums of all time, VAST’s first album Visual Audio Sensory Theatre, is pretty much non-existent on streaming services and this is a continuing outrage that has received far too little press coverage. Thankfully I still have the CD
