Do not feed the trolls. If I posted data regarding quantitative progress towards decarbonization & you response is but we are still using fossil fuels & (incorrectly state) that only fossil fuels can be used to build things, you are not interested in a conversation.

NSF today just archived it's primary program that funded paleoclimate research for US Climate Scientists. Scientists are encouraged to submit their projects to other calls instead. Competition for limited funds is sure to increase dramatically. πŸ§ͺ

If you increased the wind generation capacity by 4.3x, rooftop PV by 1.9 & grid scale PV 2.5x, then with 24GW/120GWh storage, Australia would be at nearly 100% renewable power. This is based on real world data rescaled for increased capacity. And the scaling factors are dropping with time. πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹

The global build out of #SolarPower continues to grow rapidly because it is inexpensive to build and operate and can be built after than other power sources. The future is electric, not thermal. πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹

May heat pump update: This update is comes bit later b/c the gas bill used to arrive before the electricity bill. But since we shut off the gas, we had no gas bill & were waiting for the electricity bill to arrive. This will be the new timing until fall. Let's see how things turned out... πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹

The GOP budget is devastating. Tell your Senators to vote it down. It’s not in the national best interest for any reason.

Coal use for power generation in Poland drops 10% from 2024 to 2025 to <50%, reducing GHG emissions and improving air quality. The long term trend is for continued decreases. πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹

I posted about these beauties when they first came out. Now an EV hydrofoil has crossed the Straits of Gibraltar for the first time. πŸ’ͺ πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹ electrek.co/2025/05/28/f...

Congratulations to Loyola University, 1 of just 15 universities in the US to go carbon neutral by 2025. This step will save them money by reducing/eliminating fossil fuel purchases, help clean the #environment, improve #PublicHealth and combat #ClimateChange. πŸ’ͺ πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹ news.luc.edu/stories/pres...

A new study shows another EV myth bits the dust (See what I did there?) πŸ§ͺπŸ”ŒπŸ’‘β˜€οΈπŸ’¨πŸ”‹ electrek.co/2025/05/27/a...
