The best compliment I received in 2024 was someone telling me they trusted my judgment. I chose to have a prophylactic double mastectomy this yr, and the support from my circle was astounding. I expected some pushback or questioning, but even from people who didn’t quite understand, I felt trust.

I am into the writing genre that incorporates using essays about specific life experiences to help us understand and explain bigger metaphors about our lives & ourselves. E.g. “I’ll Show Myself Out” by Jessi Klein. It’s essays on motherhood & it made me feel seen & made me think, which I love.

As this country becomes more unhinged, I take comfort in that it’s driving people fighting for the rights of the marginalized towards each other. We need one another so we can band together, know we aren’t the crazy ones, know we are on the right side of history and that the fight is well worth it

My first post! I’m Amy, I’m a tired mom of 3 little ones who works full time and does postpartum education on the side and is about to undergo a bilateral mastectomy in a few weeks due to a precancerous lesion & high lifetime cancer risk. 😵‍💫 Being on socials is a cathartic outlet for me ❤️
