🔗 www.knmi.nl/over-het-knm...

In 2024, Europe was the world’s fastest-warming continent. It had its hottest year on record, impacting an estimated 413,000 people. Sea surface temperatures also reached new highs. As our planet heats up, urgent action is more critical than ever.

We are proud to deliver the #ESOTC2024 in collaboration with @wmo-global.bsky.social and over 100 experts. It reveals that Europe experienced its warmest year on record, heat stress continues to increase in Europe, and almost one third of the river network exceeded the high flood threshold. 🧵
