Tesla China sales being lower in Q2 than Q1 is like spring being colder than winter. It just should not happen. Meanwhile, Q3 could be worse. The Xiaomi YU7 crossover officially launches Thursday, likely a huge challenger to the Model Y in China.

Zombies still very popular.

saw my first "ROBOTAXI" branded Tesla operating driverlessly in Austin, with nobody behind the wheel... I also watched as it stopped twice in the middle of the road/intersection, because there were static police vehicles off the road investigating a crime scene so yeah, off to a great start!

Trump says the U.S. bombed three key Iranian nuclear sites. How will futures open? There are some indications that Dow are down solidly. Expect oil prices to spike. Oh, and the Tesla robotaxi launch is Sunday. www.investors.com/market-trend...

Bulls noting that Waymo, others initially tested robotaxis with someone in the driver's seat. But having a "safety monitor" suggests that the Tesla robotaxi launch is a much-publicized start of testing - or perhaps the impression of testing. www.investors.com/news/tesla-r...

Futures fall, but off lows after President Trump said he'll decide within "two weeks" on whether to join Israel's attack on Iran. JPMorgan, Credo Tech, Nintendo, TKO, Guardant Health and Viking Holdings cleared buy points Wed. Astera Labs topped an early entry. www.investors.com/market-trend...

Cathie Wood's flagship Ark Innovation ETF is surging toward three-year highs. ARKK's biggest position Tesla is still down in 2025 but has rebounded in Q2. The biggest winners are two IPOs from the past year. www.investors.com/news/cathie-...

I know TSLA bulls don't care ... but this is a big deal for Tesla. TBF - a big deal for the entire China EV market.

Futures loom with all eyes on the Israel-Iran conflict. Israel is hitting Iran's energy assets, but nothing tied to crude production/exports so far. Stocks fell last week due to Friday's losses as the Mideast conflict got started. Market is still in a power trend. www.investors.com/market-trend...

As a native Oregonian, I'm more "rain on me" vs. "reign over me."

Guggenheim's Q2 delivery target of 360K and full-year target of 1.49 million are reasonable - but may still be too high. Official consensus is finally below 400K for Q2 and 1.7 mil for 2025 - but largely because very few analysts have updated targets since just after the Q1 report in late April.

Elon Musk thinks it's hilarious that your girlfriend got sick and can't make the school dance, something that would never happen to his extremely real Canadian girlfriend from summer camp

Futures tumble and crude oil prices spike as Israel launches airstrikes vs. Iran. www.investors.com/market-trend...

The major indexes rose modestly Tue. Tesla, some other megacaps gained but many growth stocks struggled. Futures fell late as the U.S. and China reached a tentative "framework." Also, Elon Musk set a June 22 robotaxi launch date. Inflation data looms early Wed. www.investors.com/market-trend...

WSJ gets into all the gory details of the Cybertruck flop, including the fact that apparently Tesla tried to make it amphibious because Elon tweeted that it would be, and they simply had to give up and redesign the whole thing when it didn't work www.wsj.com/business/aut...

Austin weather forecast this week.

Excellent front-page WSJ story by @nicktimiraos.bsky.social. Explains why businesses are reluctant to cut jobs with tariffs still in flux. www.wsj.com/economy/trum...

Metaphor

BYD vs. Tesla is barely a contest in EV sales. BYD is far ahead and now leads in net income too. Tesla is falling, with an aging lineup and thin pipeline, aside from the Trump feud. Elon Musk is betting all on self-driving, with the Austin robotaxi launch soon. www.investors.com/news/tesla-v...

Futures mixed, even with Broadcom leading several earnings losers. The major indexes fell Thu., with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq back in recent ranges as the Musk-Trump feud blew wide open. TSLA dived on the news. www.investors.com/market-trend...

Setting aside the technical pros/cons or the obvious crony capitalism perception... ...the Biden administration opened the door by getting virtually nothing done approving plans/$$ while in office.

Tesla EV customer base getting a strong Spinal Tap "more selective" vibe. www.investors.com/news/elon-mu...

Futures fall slightly. Meta, which broke out Monday, announces a 20-year deal with Constellation Energy, powering up nuclear stocks. Credo Tech and Dollar General jump on earnings. Ollie's Bargain Outlet falls. www.investors.com/market-trend...

Futures fall modestly amid U.S.-China tensions, Trump tariffs and other geopolitical news. Nucor, MP Materials are early winners. Tesla and Palantir are moving slightly around buy points. Blueprint Medicines is spiking on a Sanofi takeover. www.investors.com/market-trend...

Futures jumped on strong Nvidia earnings and a court striking down most Trump tariffs - continuing the market rally's two big catalysts. Salesforce, Veeva, Nutanix also reported late. The major indexes fell modestly Wed., but held the bulk of Tue.'s strong gains. www.investors.com/market-trend...

This is the issue for Tesla in China: losing its tech leader image. It'll only get worse in 2026-27 as its models age and rivals keep adding tech. All Tesla has in the pipeline is a stripped-down Model Y. That's not going to enhance the brand. Ofc., irrelevant for TSLA! cnevpost.com/2025/05/28/b...

Stock market rallies strongly on TACO Tuesday. Tesla among the many stocks flashing buy signals. Futures little changed with Nvidia earnings looming large. www.investors.com/market-trend...

Two interesting, totally unrelated news items.

Futures rise solidly as Trump delays new 50% EU duties. Investors had doubted Friday's latest tariff threats would come into effect, so the market reaction has been a bit muted.

Obv. nothing new here. But Democrats' refusal to admit to Biden's mental decline - let alone confront him until too late - makes it nigh-impossible to gain traction with this line of attack. It's been so long since America had a "normal" president. Forgot Obama, George W. seems like a savant.

The market rally was tested last week on spiking Treasury yields mid-week and new Trump tariff threats on Friday. The S&P 500 tested its 200-day line Friday but came off lows, likely as investors doubt Trump threats vs. Apple and EU. But the test isn't over. 1/ www.investors.com/market-trend...

Yes, presidential corruption and shady family members are nothing new, but the scale of the Trump family enrichment is off the charts. It's also so tied to *huge* economic policies. So many of these investments being outside the U.S. is the chef's kiss. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/25/w...

Futures tumble as Trump threatens 25% tariff on Apple and 50% on the European Union. The S&P 500 could undercut its 200-day line at Friday's open, with the Nasdaq not far off. As a side note, I'd wondered if the stock market rally would make Trump aggressive again. www.investors.com/market-trend...
