So many delays, and so much money wasted on consultations for grand overly ambitious projects, rather than small spends on bollards, bus gates, etc, which would save lives and make active commutes far better.

Plans to convert former Caledonian Brewery into carless development recommended for approval A major development will be considered by planners on Wednesday with a recommendation that the application to build 168 homes (including 40 affordable houses) on the brownfield site is approved. The…

70% of Edinburgh Council's active travel projects are delayed. Now the council is deciding which schemes to "pause" entirely. Join us outside the City Chambers this Thursday (May 22nd) at 08:30am to tell them that these delays cost lives!

This is just pathetic. What is the council thinking?

Next week, Edinburgh’s transport committee will discuss which active travel schemes to continue with, & which to put on hold Some good news, & some bad… 🧵 1st up, the good:

Shandon, Edinburgh residents are holding a protest about road safety, delays to a long-awaited pedestrian crossing and tackling speeding. It will take place at 5.00pm on Wednesday 7th May (junction of Ashley Terrace/Harrison Gardens).

🚧 the ‘war on motorists' claim is ill-informed 🚧 over-dependence on cars as our main mode of transport inflicts massive harm on society 🚧 prioritising car use reinforces inequalities and worsens transport poverty

Figures revealed by @edinburghgreens.bsky.social show that more than two thirds of Edinburgh's walking, wheeling & cycling projects are delayed. We're calling for urgent council action to get them back on track.

Our post-ride meeting will take place on Monday evening, at 7.30pm, at 50 George Square, Room 2.14. Come along to get involved!

So many people out on today's ride to highlight crap road surfaces and a lack of bike lanes around Polwarth! Thank you to everyone who rode! A special shout-out to the kids who braved all the hills 😎

Great turnout for today's @edcriticalmass.bsky.social !

Great positive energy highlighting need for better road safety Polwarth and Bruntsfield at today's #CriticalMass #Edinburgh @edcriticalmass.bsky.social

Here's the route for tomorrow's ride around Polwarth! We ride from Middle Meadow Walk at 2pm.

Successful transfer of the Pedal Power exhibition by cargo bike today, from Duncan Place (duncanplace.org) to Norton Park (www.nortonpark.org)!

Route will be passing through the horrendous people-unfriendly “Polwarth” roundabout that @merchistoncc.bsky.social have fought so hard to have improved

This Saturday we're off to Polwarth to see some streets in dire need of resurfacing and bike infrastructure. See you there! As usual, meet on Middle Meadow Walk at 2pm.

The long sorry saga of Edinburgh City Council tying themselves up in knots - All to enable drivers to rat run again through a residential estate. The majority of the residents want to retain the traffic filters that keep their estate safe & quiet www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/edinbur...

Greens have an emergency motion at Transport Ctte on delays to active travel projects. Despite productive round-table last wk w. @spokes.org.uk @edcriticalmass.bsky.social @livingstreetsedi.bsky.social & others, there was little progress. We’re in a #climate emergency. We should act accordingly.

Critical Mass folk were at the City Chambers today to hear from kids about how to tackle the air pollution outside their schools. Thanks to Parents For Future Scotland for organising this brilliant event! www.parentsforfuturescotland.org.uk/airpollution

Last chance to get a real bargain!

We are Critical Mass!

Another great Critical Mass ride on Saturday! Plenty of folk out to celebrate our LTN win in Leith and remind everyone that we are the traffic! We were joined on the ride by Engineering students from Glasgow and Heriot-Watt universities with cutting-edge hydrogen-powered e-bikes.

Great turnout at @edcriticalmass.bsky.social ride today. The sun shone ☀️ and there was a positive vibe after the decision on Tuesday to make the #Leith #LTN permanent. 😃 Now we just need *all* our streets to be safe for cycling! 🚴

Here's the route for tomorrow's ride! See you on Middle Meadow Walk at 2pm!

Great to see so many across the council supporting cleaner air, safer streets, and evidence over scaremongering. Liveable Leith have done some great work to secure this win! Thanks also to everybody who wrote to councillors, went on our January ride to Leith, or came out to protest at the Chambers!
