Motor City or not, if Detroit @cityofdetroit.bsky.social wants to become a more dynamic and financially resilient city, it needs a lot more of photo #1 (trams) and a lot less of photo #2 (cars). Car traffic is what hampers downtown vitality.

Downtown Detroit mostly too car-centric. People Mover: not the best conceived project, but clean and ok for what it is. Nice to have radiant heaters on platforms. Also, no women riders this evening (~7:30pm or earlier at 6pm). Understandable as light use + automation = not perceived to be safe.
