Punk is not dead

Very interesting study from @themaximacenter.bsky.social just out in the European Journal of Cancer. They established a living bio bank of patient-derived Neuroblastoma organoids amenable for drug screening. All data freely available at @r2platform.bsky.social www.ejcancer.com/article/S095...

Movies you’ve watched more than six times, gifs only

They're eating the research. They're eating the science.

Today is the international day against childhood cancer. To honor the 2,500 children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer each year in France, scientists from @crcm.bsky.social, @aphm-chu-marseille.bsky.social & @inp-marseille.bsky.social ran 15km this morning in Marseille to draw 2500 in GPS 💪🏻

Every time he goes on like this, with his 6yo vocabulary, we can’t help but think “there must be more to it, he can’t be THAT stupid”. But at some point, we must accept the evidence as truth: he’s the dumbest man to ever walk the face of the Earth and was elected US President a second time.

The scariest part is that it’s not “all for no reason”. They are knowingly and intentionally destroying biomedical research in the US. The question now is how can we fight back as an international community to limit as much as possible the terrible impact of their madness?

Looking forward to attending the conference of the “Pharmacology, Engineering & technologies for health, bio-imaging” section of @cnrs.bsky.social in Reims. I’ve been told they make a good sparkling wine in the region

We are currently living some of the most exciting times in terms of scientific advances. Yet, medical research has never been more threatened. Maybe I’m just shit in science history but it sure feels like a huge contradiction to me. Going so high & so low at the exact same time…

I’ve never been a huge fan of “popular” things. When it comes to music or movies for instance, it’s very rarely a sign of high quality. But when it comes to review articles, sometimes, the most downloaded ones are also some of the best ones. This particular review is awesome ⤵️

Are cancer vaccines directed against neo-antigens the future of cancer treatments? Not sure yet, but this first step sure does look like a HUGE leap forward 🤩 www.nature.com/articles/s41... #Medsky #Oncosky

First they ban books, then they flag "keywords" in research grant applications... Even if you were not working on DEI per se, if you do brain cancer research & happen to mention the blood brain barrier, you're out cause you used a forbidden word! This level of non-sense & evil is unprecedented.

Trying to forget about everything that’s going wrong in the world right now, for just a couple of hours. The view was helpful 🤩 #Marseilleisbeautiful

I was today years old when I found out about @europepmc.org Thanks @christlet.bsky.social This is awesome! europepmc.org

Le même fond et les mêmes méthodes…

This is HUGE !!! Mapping the metabolomic impact of pharmacological agents enables dissecting their mechanism of action in an unbiased manner. Congrats to @zampierilab.bsky.social and all involved for opening such major avenues for the deciphering of drug polypharmacology 🤩

Really enjoyed those 2 days of conference in Montpellier. The support of “La Ligue” to Cancer Research in France is second to none!

Excited to attend my first scientific conference for 2025. Grateful for the invitation from La Ligue contre le Cancer to take part in their annual colloquium. Some really great science covering multiple fields of cancer research from metabolism, resistance, social inequalities and prevention.

The final #RockBand of @southrock.bsky.social is called “Metabo-a-gogo”. It reflects the importance of metabolic alterations in pediatric oncology and offers a high level of expertise. Plus it’s a good excuse to hang out with world renowned expert in immuno-metabolism, @rafajarguello.bsky.social

First get together of (part of) the REMAP4Kids team for 2025. Celebrating the departure of our beloved PhD student Baptiste Mouysset and the arrival of our Master student Florent Sauteret.

Gentle reminder to my fellow French people. The US is always a few years ahead of us. So we know what’s coming. We must do everything we can to stop this plague.

How can we improve informed consent procedures in pediatric oncology? Only by engaging patients & families for the co-constructions of age-adapted communication materials. This is what The Talking Minds will put in place as part of @southrock.bsky.social our Lyon-Marseille centre of excellence.

« My heart goes out to you »

Encore une étude contredite par la réalité alternative des droitards j’imagine 😅

Another one to go and Didier l’Embrouille will have the same number of retractions as my H index. I know he will overtake me very soon after. There’s no way I can keep up with that rhythm. Well done champ! You truly are the best of us 💪🏻

Personally, I love it here 🦋 - and for science 🧪 its wonderful! And its also increasingly getting better & better for other diverse and interesting random posts (non-science) as more and more join - lets hope the overall engagement and positivity remains! www.nature.com/articles/d41...

As an expert on drug repurposing, seeing this type of study showing the benefits of non-oncology drugs for cancer patients, always puts a big smile on my face. It helps people, doesn’t cost much and is published in Nature Medicine. What else can you ask for?

« La réalité dément cette étude » Il faut mesurer la perversion d’une telle phrase prononcée par un ministre de la République. Une étude qu’il ne lira jamais, dont il ne comprendra jamais les fondements (et les biais de sa propre interprétation de la réalité)… Triste époque

Really interesting paper 🧪 🤩 Immune evasion through mitochondrial transfer 😮 Ikeda et al find that #mitochondria from cancer cells can #transfer over to T cells - altering their #metabolism & reducing antitumour immunity www.nature.com/articles/s41... www.nature.com/articles/d41... @nature.com

The 6th #Rockband of @southrock.bsky.social is at the « crossroads » of Hematology, Oncology & Immunology. It aims at breaking the barriers between these disciplines to build true transdisciplinary research projects and improve the outcome of children with cancer. One of my personal favorites

Amazing !!! Must read #Medsky #Pedsky #Oncosky

Starting this new week with the introduction of a new Band of @southrock.bsky.social, The Windows. This working group will study all the potential windows of susceptibility involved in #ChildhoodCancer: exposure during pregnancy and early childhood, genetic & epigenetic predisposition factors…
