I got both of these on the same day, from Windows in Newcastle. Yeah, I wasn't a complicated kid.

My show THE DARK ROOM is eligible this year for a Hugo nomination - the oldest award in science fiction! If you’ve got voting power and enjoyed the show, I’d be honoured if you’d nom me! (Ooh) Think category is Best Dramatic Presentation - Short Form Full Glasgow 2024 video + voting deets below

Right, noping out of social media for a bit. Mental health has to come first. Won't be long, I just need to not be so self-destructively angry for a short while.

Questing Time, the popular D&D actual play improv stage show, returns! To the @cpxmcr.bsky.social in Manchester. This Weekend! Go see @paulfoxcroft.bsky.social and chums do very silly D&D improv. Interview via @starburst.bsky.social www.starburstmagazine.com/features/pau...

Hugo Nominations are open - if you can vote you should have had an email. Just a reminder that @forcemajeurepod.bsky.social - Star Wars Force Majeure (Shadows of the Jedi) is eligible for Best Fancast, and though it's unlikely I'll win, it would be lovely to be nominated.

Hark! Hugo Awards nominations are open! Don't forget this also includes nominating for the Best Speculative Poem Hugo! If you enjoyed any speculative poetry in the past year, don't hesitate to put it on the ballot. Even if you're just starting to read, don't let this moment pass without your noms!

Good. WFH is good for workers. It also helps us get rid of pointless office buildings in already crowded metropolitan areas. That means city centres can focus on providing entertaining and social experiences; adding to culture and making life easier and more fun.

Twenty years of getting excited every Februrary that people are talking about how great owls are, only to discover they're talking about sport. *sigh*

Imagine a special relationship between President Gritty and Prime Minister Count Binface. It would be a golden age. A time of healing.

This Byline Times story on Farage pictured with far-right activists has not been picked up by any established media outlet - including liberal/democratic/left publications. Why? Because people like being comfortable in their own power and status. The newspaper I edit will keep sounding the alarm.

The great writer @aliettedebodard.com is going through an awful situation, so a bunch of us put together a funding link to help. (I’ve been asked not to add to what she’s said here.) Do give whatever you can, and please spread the word. www.gofundme.com/f/helping-al...

K! So! We spent this week figuring out how the tariffs, inflation and other bullshit is going to affect business. Time to thread. For those not in the know, I'm the Director at Hachette Boardgames USA and I import games for foreign publishers and market and sell them in the US. 1/?

just over here photoshopping muppets onto the cover of elle magazine: thread

Luxury Space Communism With Totally Pointless Giant Battle Robots. Or y'know, a modern democracy that puts people over profits, but that's just a wild fantasy.

My local MP is still claiming they haven't sorted out their staff yet and is total rubbish, but I still write to him often. Not only does this let Write to Them chart how useless they are, it also means that I've gone on record about my concerns.

This is huge. My petition got approved. It challenges the UK government to the lift the Puberty Blocker ban on the grounds that it contradicts article 8 of The United Nations Convention On The Rights Of The Child. Please sign and Repost ✊️🏳️‍⚧️ petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

Please sign. Parliament have intially dismissed this out of hand; so now we need to push the point to get a debate. Every signature is someone standing up and going on record to say that the Cass Report is nothing more than a cheap stunt for the ideologically driven persecution of a minority.

Was a pleasure to GM this actual play season; an amazing bunch of players.

The London Lovecraft Festival returns for it's 5th year at the Drayton Arms, during the 16th and 17th of February. Full story via @starburst.bsky.social www.starburstmagazine.com/london-lovec...

The misinformation about cats comes from The Sun tabloid, an incredibly poor source for anything remotely true.

What was that happy little tune I’ve been whistling? Oh, nothing, nothing at all
